me too. the biggest drawback for me was the lyrical limitations (to put it one way). but don't think it deserves the trashing that it's getting. coldplay are doomed if they do and doomed if they don't anyway. anyway, from the band's viewpoint, i don't think this is an album that may be weighed the same as the previous ones as it is more of a personal affair. p.s. really didn't this reviewer hear oceans?? to me that's one of the best accoustic-y tracks they have ever done.

yeah! and still ranking mylo over both x&y and GS? i think we can safely say good bye to any grammys next year. critically, this has had a worse acceptance than mylo.

i have a feeling although ghost stories has a lot of potential to be a great breakup album by including songs like the bonus tracks, ultimately that was not the goal of the album. it is supposedly a declaration of unconditional love. understandable from the writer's point of view, but as a listener, it would have been much more interesting to see different emotions that a breakup comes with other than what's presented.

for me it fits perfectly. ir shows the despair that comes with a breakup and works wonderfully as the centre piece.

you know, i can't put my finger on the meaning of this song, unlike the rest of the songs in the GS era. one reason is that we don't have any official lyrics yet. although this sounds very sexy, i doubt lyrically it is. any theories on the meaning of the song?

^ exactly. lyrically, these two bonus tracks add another dimension/depth that was missing in the album. i understand the differences in tone and musical arrangements/instruments, but had they included these tracks or replaced one/two tracks, the album would have been better in my mind.
