because coldplay have already done stadium gigs (+45k or so) all over the world except the US. if they want to do a stadium tour in the US, teaming up with an established mainstream artist will help with selling out the gigs. sort of like a double headliner. just a thought. no idea if the rumor is true. mackplay is a user here. i'm sure he'll reply if someone asks him.

it would make sense if coldplay want to do a stadium tour in the US. but in the rest of the world, they don't need that.

pretty sure the lower voice harmonizing is chris. never thought the main singer was him. in a way it is great he is writing with avicii but not performing for him. i like that. a songwriter must itch to do different things. keep that voice for mainly coldplay chris, as has been the case.

ok, so the tracklist is up on itunes in the countries where it is tomorrow now. avicii fans say this track is the chris martin co-write. it doesn't look finished but if this is the case .... don't think it is released until 10th september? anyway, now stereogum is making the same deduction going by the cover. so they don't know anything more than we do either. the irony is, stereogum says coldplay has been teasing the album since last december, when they hardly did. don't we wish that was the case though...

the rollingstone feature is a great clue!excited to see what they have to say. but if this was an exclusive article that revealed info on the new album, it would be a much more prominent article i think. still can't wait to see it.

it is a supposedly leaked list. nothing official yet. we'll have to wait until the official list comes out in rollingstone to be sure.

ok, so no media outlet has linked AHFOD producers as stargate before. so either vulture knows something that we don't and this is confirmation or they are just going with the fan assumptions. x

According to the spotify user streams "fix you" is the 10th most all time timeless song. See the top 30 here. I find it interesting that most hardcore coldplay fans don't rate fix you much, but it is a song a lot of casual listeners just love.

ah, well, music is subjective. for me, viva is where the whole band got to shine through, which is not the case in their earlier work. but i somewhat see your point. not regarding x&y. i wasn't a hardcore fan back then, but chronologically, when you reach the point of x&y, i would have been desperate for a change. i'm sure a lot of people would disagree, but for me x&y was them trying to redo a rush of blood and fit it into a stadium sound. didn't quite work. anyway, back to lp7, i would really like it if the band teased this release well before the album or a single came out since GS was a low key affair. it would be great to get the more casual fans excited as well instead of just us here in the forums.
