  1. It made me happy. REALLY happy. I may have to watch it a few hundred more times.
  2. Hehe, nice. It's kinda hard to not get carried away listening to that song, though, so really, who could blame you?
  3. *Wanders off to find this* Ooh. That was fun to watch :D.
  4. Hehe, I kinda want to see Chris decked out like a clown riding a unicycle now :D (and I like that he studied ancient literature for some reason. I just think that's kinda cool). Fully agreed with his thoughts on what it is that messes up celebrities so badly. It's great to see he seems to have his head on straight and that his band isn't falling prey to so much of that craziness that has destroyed other musicians. And I can't wait to see what he's like when he's 44 :). Thanks for the interview, very interesting read.
  5. I absolutely LOVE that song. So freakin' sexy. Favorite one off of Viva La Vida. Lately I have not been able to get enough of "In My Place" or "God Put A Smile Upon Your Face". The latter song has found itself in my head way more times than I care to count recently.
  6. I think it's safe to say you're not even close to being alone in that statement :). I know so many people who think he's hot. I don't have a crush on him, but I definitely understand the appeal. Isn't the internet great that way :D? Aren't we all? Pretty, pretty eyes...gorgeous smile...*Melts into gooey mushy puddle*
  7. I completely understand. I felt that way when I first really noticed the lyrics, too :). This band has an uncanny knack for making songs like that, being simple and yet truthful all at once is not an easy thing to pull off.
  8. I just found out recently at least one of my friends, and a couple people I work with, like Coldplay :)! I'm trying to get it so the friend and I can go see the band in either Minneapolis or Chicago in August-it'd be really nice for once to have someone to go with to a show who's as big a fan of the artist as I am. I've had to put up with a bit of teasing about liking Coldplay, too. Ah, well. It's good-natured, and they never tell me to stop listening to the band, so... Haha, yeah, it definitely depends on the song. I like it, too, the only problem is, if I'm at work, for instance, that means I have to wait until I get home to properly listen to the song that will not leave my head :p. So I find myself humming it quietly or tapping my fingers at work instead. And then I just look weird.
  9. Nothing wrong with that :). A fan's a fan, no matter how long their fandom. And that's a fine song to introduce yourself with. It was that song that told me, "You know, I like these guys' music, I really should start picking up their albums..."
  10. Oh, hell, yeah *Thumbs up*. At my workplace, the system that runs our computers is called "Square One". So, yeah, that pretty well makes me smile each time I have to do anything with it. (And then I get the song stuck in my head) Also, when you're putting out music magazines each week/month at work, you find yourself flipping through them while working or on your break to see if there's any sort of mention of the guys, even a little snippet.
  11. Apparently they seem to factor into any description of old ladies for some reason :p. Pension! Hey, you can retire early, then :D!
  12. "The Late, Late Show with Craig Ferguson" :).
  13. I too approve of the "1984" pick. She's rather popular at the store I work at. I'm going to have to check her stuff out sometime, apparently. We have that book at my store, too. It's definitely on my list of stuff to read. Right now I'm working my way through "The President and the Assassin" by Scott Miller, which is about the assassination of President McKinley in the early 1900s and the man who murdered him, Leon Czolgosz, and how both men's lives were intertwined and affected by the changes in the U.S. at that time, what with the Industrial Revolution and the Republican Party and such. It's pretty interesting so far.
  14. I love the first two lines from that song, because I like the suggestion that all the craziness people put each other through is even more insane when you look at the Earth itself-there's a real existential sort of thing going on there that I appreciate. If that makes sense. I also really like the "And give me love over, love over, love over this" bit, too. Given what this song was inspired by, something about that part and the way he sings it just sounds so comforting and hopeful. That's a good one. I also love, Priests clutched onto bibles hollowed out to fit their rifles. The imagery there is just awesome. As is this from "Viva La Vida": I discovered that my castles stand upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand And finally, there's "When she was just a girl, she expected the world/But it flew away from her reach, so she ran away in her sleep" and the two song snippets in my signature. "Fix You" and "Paradise" I can relate so easily to, and the bit from "The Scientist"...well, I just find that beautiful and romantic.
  15. *Clears a space for Comicforce* This is true. *Looks* *Turns into hours-long stareathon*
  16. *Resigns herself to life of spinsterhood* Haha, oh, I've been there. If I found a guy that had all the characteristics of every celebrity crush I had blended into one, physically and personality-wise, and they were my age and lived in my town, wedding bells would be a ringin' tomorrow :D. I think you're going to be waiting a loooooooooooooooooooooong time for that to happen. Like, say, for all eternity. Aw *Hugs*. I was like that when I was a teenager, too. The older men apparently have always seemed to be my thing. It's nice to know I'm not alone.
  17. Oh, I'm not complaining about the age difference, mind :D. Given how many celebrities I like are at least 20 plus years older than me, I'm always happy when I can find one I like who's not old enough to be my dad. *Gets out her knitting and rocks back and forth in her chair on her porch* I have a cat, too. Oh, dear god...:p.
  18. Ouch. Talk about salt in the wound. Such a freakish story. So sad-my thoughts go out to all those whose loved ones died. May those who lost their lives rest in peace. I've never been hot-air ballooning because I'm afraid of this very thing happening.
  19. People talking about hearing Coldplay when they were little makes me feel old, LOL *Sits in rocking chair*. "Yellow" was the first one I heard, back when it first came out. Was 15 years old and saw the video on TV. I actually remember thinking something along the lines of, "Hm, this is new, I'll sit and give it a listen.*
  20. Thanks, coldplaymom, for that link. Lovely. I like seeing him with his kids, too. Seem like a pretty happy little family unit, the Martin clan. LMAO. Hey, it worked, didn't it? Yeah, what on earth's going on here? *Twists head around* Well, that is just too cute for words right there, that is. That smile...*Sighs*. Chris is only 7 years older than me. So if he's old, what does that make me :p?
  21. Oooh, that's a great way to make up for something! Helloooooo, Chris. To be fair, I've never left the continential U.S. once in my life, so my take on accents and such is pretty limited. So I'll take your guys' word for everything regarding that topic. I think we can all at least agree that no matter what the accent, hearing Chris talk is never a bad thing? Thanks :)! I am enjoying this thread immensely. Also, coldplaymom, your avatar is adorable. Where'd you find that at?
  22. Nice *Thumbs up*. My friends were talking about Muse last night, they don't know a ton of their stuff, but they want to hear more, and I'm more than willing to convert them :D. Matt must be wanting to start competing with Chris! Good god, babies everywhere...Dom must not know what to do with himself some days. Congrats on Chris and Kelly's newest child (I kinda like her name. That's nice), and if Kate is indeed pregnant again, congrats to her and Matt.
  23. *Snickers* Ahhhhhh, a "Community" thread! I knew I'd like this place! *Anxiously awaiting the return of the show* Damn hiatus. Damn NBC *Shakes fist* Guess I'll just have to watch the DVDs over again when I need my "drool over Jeff" fix :p.
  24. You know, I was watching the band's Glastonbury set the other night on YouTube... ...and, um, I kinda really liked it when Chris was rolling around on the stage. So thanks for those "layiing down" photos, Comicforce :D (appropriate you post that before going to bed). I hear no trace of an American accent when Chris is talking. It's all strongly English to me. Which is completely fine in my book :).
  25. That's what "Fix You" does for me. I've always loved that song, but man, after the last couple of years... I hear that song and I feel like I want to go find the guys and tell them, "Thank you for writing that song. It means so much to me." I said this to someone else recently, but that song, to me, is like getting a big, comforting, reassuring hug from someone who will just let you cry on their shoulder for an hour.
