  1. Ooh, awesome, thank you. I shall watch it shortly. Ahhhhh, young Coldplay :D. Love that Jonny and Chris are sharing a seat .
  2. I was one of the many Americans who first heard of them through "Song 2" in the late '90s, and liked that song. However, my area also used to get a Canadian music channel, MuchMusic, for a time in the late '90s and early '00s, and I also remember seeing the video for their song "Coffee & TV" on TV a lot. I liked that one, too, that video always stuck out in my mind. Then in 2001 "Clint Eastwood" was everywhere, and again, loved the song. But for the longest time I didn't make the connection that the guy singing in that song was Damon Albarn from Blur. I didn't find that out until I started getting more into Blur's music, and that happened because I watched a lot of VH1 Classic and they started playing some of their early and mid '90s stuff on there a lot-"She's So High", "Girls & Boys", "There's No Other Way", "The Universal", etc. I kept seeing those videos on TV all the time and was curious, so I went on YouTube and checked out some more of their stuff. And I also started looking more into Gorillaz as well. And voila! Like I said I'm still working on getting their albums, but I'm definitely a fan of everything I've heard so far. I don't know why Blur didn't take off more here in the States. They should have, given how broad the amount of music that got popular in the '90s I don't see why they couldn't have had more success. Maybe their music was too referential of British culture, perhaps, for many Americans to "get it"? I dunno. (I've never been to Britain at all, but I love music that speaks about British culture-it's something different and interesting to learn about-if I can't be there, hearing songs about it is the next best thing)
  3. Yep, doing fine. All the worst of it's well off to our south (and my thoughts are with everyone down that way in other states who got hit hard, I hope everyone made it through all right). We've had some thundershowers throughout the night, but nothing major, thankfully. Thank you for the concern :). You're welcome. And very well said about them being "exactly what you're looking for in music" and being a blessing and such. Fully agreed on that. "Fix You" gets me all emotional, too, every time. I've talked before about why, it's a very personal song for me. All my favorite artists have songs that make me react that way. That's one of the big things I love about music. A person can write a song and people the world over can relate to, love, and bond over it. I just find that amazing.
  4. Those pictures are cool! I love the elephants (that stuffed one is so cute). Also, you're very pretty :). Hahaha, oh, dear, I can only imagine how that would turn out . It would be fun, though, everyone hanging out in that part of England together.
  5. Hahaha, I like that one :D. I would've said that, too.
  6. Lory  :). Aw, thanks for the kind words. Welcome to the thread/boards! *Proceeds to faint*
  7. :laugh3: Awwwwwwwwwww .
  8. Awww, poor sheep! But that sad moment aside, I'm glad you had a good time, that sounds fun! Haha, so I'm not the only one making a list, then, nice :D. I'm not on Twitter at all. I am on Facebook, though, but even that I don't post on as often as I should. I mainly got it to connect with family and friends, I just don't think my life's that interesting to share constant updates :p. Meant to comment on this: No. No, it's not bad at all. Music is very powerful that way, it allows us to let our emotions out, and I think that's a good thing. Plus, crying is very cathartic. If Coldplay's music lets you express your feelings and helps you feel better as a result, then they have done their job as a band :). This. I'd like to do that, too.
  9. to everybody here who's feeling bleh and down. I hope things get better for you all soon :). I'll poke around and see what I can find that might cheer you guys up. And nice to learn names, Ariel and Wing and Jilly and such-so many lovely names here. I think I'm going to go back through at some point and write down everyone's name next to their s/n so I can remember them all properly :p. My name is Angela, for those who don't know :). Awesome, thanks in advance :). I'll check out all the other recent videos shared here, too-thanks to all for posting them, they look good. Don't apologize! The image just cracked me up . But I liked it. Oh, yes, I did :sneaky:. Sun...Chris...beach... ...sorry, what were we talking about again? Sounds fun! Glad you enjoyed it. I worked most of yesterday and dealt with bleh customers, so that was my Friday the 13th, LOL. But it's the weekend and I am home and relaxing and all is well. Supposed to rain, too, so I'll just hole up inside and have a Coldplay weekend or something. Guh . Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh, yeah, I love that one, too. I don't believe I've seen it before. *Looks for paddles*
  10. Love the new pictures, Tash, thanks for sharing them. That's a really cute outfit she's got on. Also thanks for that link to that show as well, I'm curious to see it, too.
  11. Bumpity bump bump bump...:p. So FINALLY got around to getting that whole thing worked out so I could watch the video. Yeah, I definitely remember seeing this concert on TV a few years back, it was really fun to watch it again.
  12. My, you girls are a busy lot! This ^^^^. Well, if that's not a convincing enough reason, I don't know what is ! (I'd come even if they weren't going to be there, mind, 'cause I just want to hang out with all of you :). But them being there would be one incredibly nice bonus!) LMAO...oh, that is just great :D. Well, these are cute! I've not seen them before! What are they from? Sigh. This makes me want to watch that again now. Every time I see this picture, without fail, my eyes go immediately to his chest. Can't. Stop. Staring. ...oh, FFS, Row! You just had to say that and put that image in my mind...:p :sneaky:. It has, but trust me, we do not mind seeing it again and often ! You're absolutely right, who could turn THAT down?
  13. Ooh, videos! I shall watch these at some point tonight! Amen to that . I LOVE these pictures/gifs! My god, they're too cute for words together . Well, it has to do with a couple pictures in the "LOL" thread. I'm going to mull it over a bit more and work on it this weekend, and maybe post it in the next few days as well. Bendy. Like a cat. Mmhm. *Eyes wander about, looking all innocent*
  14. Oh, that is PERFECT :D. Happy birthday, Guy! Hope you're having a fantastic celebration.
  15. :laugh3: at the last couple pages worth of captions! Oh, gosh... "Hey, let's see if I can compare the microphone to..." :sneaky: :chris: "So, Jonny, this is how this girl named Tracie might react upon seeing you..." Short and sweet answer? Yes.
  16. No kidding! England just got that much cooler to me. And that's a very good question. What in the world...? If anyone could translate the questions from that, I would love you. There is so much I want to know about how those answers came about... But of course :D. I do, too . It's fun! *Sings* I know St. Martin won't call my name...
  17. Happy belated birthday to you :).
  18. Holy crap, that second one :stunned:. Uhhhhhhhhhhhhh...
  19. You have nailed down pretty much why I love that album. It's bright. And positive. And makes me feel like the road ahead is brighter. It's a great, happy escape for almost an hour. I personally do like pop music (pop music is a lot more than Bieber and that sort of stuff. Coldplay have pop elements). And I do like some hip-hop and rap as well-don't let what's on the radio now color your view of those genres. There's good stuff out there in every genre. But that's just me. Otherwise, I'm in agreement with your post-very well said, you expressed perfectly why we all love this band. I wouldn't act that way, either. I'd probably just mumble something like, "I like your music" or "Thank you for writing 'Fix You'" or something like that. And then I'd possibly apologize for bugging them or something :p.
  20. Cuuuuuuuuuuuuute. This is why I love gifs.
  21. Agreed. And I can easily relate to Jonny being shy or quiet or whatnot-I'm like that, too. I've never been interviewed on camera, but I know it'd be really awkward having a camera and microphone in my face and asking me my opinion on things. I'm not a very talkative person, so I know I'd probably be stumbling over my words and not expressing myself very well. That's why I love the interviews, be it with Coldplay or with anyone else I like, where the interviewer is willing to just let the discussion go wherever. Where they're not asking the same 10 questions over and over again, but can get onto discussions about topics that may not even have any relation to music (although I do love music discussion, too). They're more relaxed and open and willing to talk about things that genuinely interest them. Ooh, that sucks. Not cool at all. Talk of painting guitars and such, if the guitar looks cool enough on its own I'd probably leave it, but if it were a plain white or black or brown color or something, I might do a little decorating on it to make it pop a bit more. Oh, wow, he does? That's cool. I've been on stage acting before (minor parts), but yeah, it's not the easiest thing to do, and not something everyone's cut out for. And I sure couldn't get up and sing in front of tons of people, either. Gack! I'm the same way with writing. I'm my own worst critic and always hesitant to share what I've written with people, but when I do get feedback, and good feedback at that (they loved it or give constructive criticism), that definitely makes me breathe a sigh of relief. It's good for everyone to have some means of expressing themselves, be it through music, art, writing, dancing, whatever. And if I can tell the person clearly loves what they do, that alone is enough to make me interested and respect them. :laugh3: I'd buy that, totally. LOVE the pictures in these last few pages. Particularly the super big one of Jonny from a few pages back. Very nice closeup.
  22. Oh, yeah, of course :). Still a cute story. Love that gif. Aw.
  23. I love that quote at the end of that clip, too . OMG...Chris :laugh3:! That's a good one, that quote! Can only imagine what his mom's reaction must've been to that.
  24. ^^^Awwwwwww :). Well, hey, your answer does have truth to it. They DO love each other-maybe not in a relationship sense, but as friends/"brothers", so to speak? Absolutely. I also like that he saw that and didn't seem fazed or make a big deal at all. Kids don't get hung up on stuff the way adults do, and I like that.
  25. Sending on :hug:s to Lory, and anyone else who needs one. I think that's a fine idea! I have to work tomorrow afternoon and then Friday afternoon/evening, but I'm off Saturday, Sunday, and Monday, so yeah, let's party it up! My place is a bit small, but eh, we could just all chill in the living room and dance and watch TV and gush ! Love the quotes from Chris you shared, too, those certainly made me smile. That's one of the things I love most about the guy, he's got such a positive, uplifting outlook on life, he can find the beauty in anything. It's a lovely trait. And I like the idea about posting things from favorite Coldplay videos. I'll go look through Photobucket and share some here tonight. Speaking of videos, I'll need to watch that one concert in here again, too, by the way-I want to see where Tracie is! That is so adorable and makes me laugh every time. I don't know what I like more, his high pitched "Justin" voice or his dance moves. I'll just say I love both and be done with it :p. 88 pages, WOW. I'm glad it was worth the time spent for you :D. And I think it's safe to say we love you as well! Bwahaha, I love that quote :laugh3:. I could make a comment about him and Jonny here, but...yeah . Hope all goes well at school tomorrow! You will be missed, definitely! *Looks at these* Oh, hell... That gif. UMMMMMMMMMMMM...*THUD*
