Berlin isnt that expensive. At least the hotels aren't. As long as you are near a subway station you are in the heart of the city in half an hour or so. Public transport is very good and also not that expensive. There are special tickets for tourists and weekends etc... When are u planning to come over here? Next summer or 2015? (btw, traveling through germany by train is also not that expensive if you know what tickets to buy.)

Your welcome to Germany any time. I would definitely recommending coming here. Visiting a few cities (Berlin, Cologne, Munich) is worth a trip i guess. Especially Berlin has a lot to offer. A LOT of history and about the same amount of cool things to and see besides that. Dont know what you are interested in (History, Music, Culture...)
