Hello, fellow Coldplayers!
Anyway, I needed a place to rant about Coldplay songs / song lyrics / do Coldplay-related stuff, so I decided to come here.
I've already started to post some (especially on a game boards), but I decided to make a formal introduction...
My internet pseudonym is musicalfrogbricks (although you can call me MFB). There's really no story behind the name. Well, I'm musical (my head is filled with lyrics and melodies, and I've played piano for... maybe 8 or 9 years?), and I certain affiliations with frogs, I guess... bricks is just really random. BUt I can be really random. xD
I'm against giving too much personal info on the internet, but there are a few tidbits about me that I'm willing to post here... for one, I live in the United States and am a girl under the age of 20.
Anyway, back to Coldplay-related stuff.
I've started liking Coldplay since around the beginning of January. I knew that one of my friends liked them, and I started to listen to them. I had no idea who they were really at first (I wasn't really into anything related to rock, and I didn't really know what rock meant at that point either), but then I started listening...
The very first Coldplay song that I really caught onto was Paradise. Of course, I've expanded MUCH beyond that now. I eventually figured out that they were the same band that had written Viva la Vida.
I started out liking the biggest hits. Y'know - Yellow, the Scientist, Clocks, Fix You, etc. Strawberry Swing and Speed of Sound were my favorites at some points, too...
I began to delve a lot more into their older stuff - I eventually fell in love with all of their singles from their first three albums. And then some more. I really love Spies, Everything's Not Lost, Politik, A Rush of Blood to the Head, Amsterdam, Swallowed in the Sea, and A Message.
I have to emphasize Fix You, though. I really enjoy anthemic songs, and also sad songs - Fix You is like a combination of the two, plus an epic guitar riff. :) There are some close competitors, though.
So, yeah. I guess I'm at that stage where I know Coldplay well enough to have internalized it in my system, I guess. Whenever I see something Coldplay-related on the internet, I don't go "OHH MY GOD IT'S COLDPLAY." (In the real world, Coldplay-related things are much more rare.)
I'm on an MX-appreciation mood today - I particularly like Major Minus, although I kind of disliked it before. It's a lot... more complex than I thought it was originally. If you listen for the bassline, it shows the piece in a new light. And then once you listen beyond the melody, you can also hear a lot more going on...
Anyway, I digress.
As you can see, I'm really wordy online.
Have fun Coldplaying!

EDIT: That was much longer than expected.
