  2. Paul helped GS i think so it would make sense if he helped out there next one. Tbh, i think Coldplay is trying not to repeat a MX and tell and show the audience everything before the album comes out. I think if they do what they did with Viva, it would be perfect.
  3. did u notice at the end of the video, the sound of the synths was getting cloudier and changing? It feels like Coldplay to me. Also i love how Paul Epworth just comments, "See you next weekend?" randomly.
  4. that was an awesome loop
  5. just watched a doc from 2009 about Coldplay. And my god they seemed just different then now. I personally think that when they fired Brian Eno (which i was for btw), Coldplay went downhill
  6. A Head Full of Nothing
  7. what about :viva: :( hes feeling lonely
  8. I think we should go back to not posting in this thread unless there is some actual news so we dont recycle whats bad and whats good over and over again, just more and more pissed off.
  9. Chris Martin can write whatever he wants with whoever he wants and he doesn't care of a small minority of his fans want a degressive sound from the early 2000's that is no longer relevant. He just doesn't care. And he doesn't care if u stop listening to coldplay cuz there are many more who have just begun to listen to them. So how about we just wait and see for this album and not assume its going to be shit. Because god forbid they make a good song with rhianna and make a great pop album which do exist, if u didn't know. Edit: not directed at the poster above me in case there is confusion. I'm refering this post to all the people who are complaining.
  10. Arobtth like. I love the color stains.
  11. Can they make a edm album where the only lyrics are aah, ooh, doo, and of course yah. In fact the songs can be called them too. XD
  12. That is awesome. If Coldplay had something like that it would probably rival AROBTTH as best album cover
  13. If you can get this out of Coldplay, you probably think Thom Yorke is satan
  14. More controversy??? thats a bit scary xD hopefully not fan fic
  15. i cant believe no one had found this from freaking 2003 omfg pls dont ban me xD
  16. this thread doe
  17. Perfect happy song? I think he should listen to Hello Goodbye by the beatles. The most happy song i know.
  18. Speculation threads = my boredom ranting thread xD
  19. I agree, both AROBTTH and Viva were responses to critics: being too soft and bland, and being predictable and too serious. Critics have said that GS was too "nice" and was less of a break up album and more of an apology to Paltrow. And they said because of passive lyrics and less then raw production the album wasn't personal at all. I have to agree with this, even though i love the album. Other then Always in my Head, Midnight, Oceans, and O... there was a lack of pure emotion. I think if Coldplay rlly thought about it, they would go and make an album that was less for everyone and more about Chris' experiences.
  20. My question is what does Coldplay look like when they are not trying to appease the mainstream? I like to think its similar to the dark edges of Viva: Yes! Cemeteries of London, DAAOHF... I love the maturity and complexity of these songs. However is that an independent Coldplay or a Coldplay out there to prove something. I think other than to prove they are not a one album wonder (AROBTTH), this was the last time they needed to prove something. After x&y, they needed to prove they would not just stay stagnant. They have always had a forumula to, one of the main reasons critics turn away from them. I hope Coldplay gets rid of the foruma for good
  21. Thats pretty objective IMO but to each there own. I personally love Viva for the diversity of the sound but I also love AROBTTH so I will never diss the album. They are both beautiful.
  22. Um... Violet Hill, 42, DAAHF, Cemeteries of London, even Yes are all pretty damn close to rock. I do get what you mean. AROBTTH is definitely closest to organic rock from a 4 piece band. But also keep in mind that AROBTTH has a shit ton of ballads while Viva has only one ballad that is like 2 minutes long. TBH Coldplay has never been a true straight rock band, they always have pop in there and other genres mixed in. Also I think he meant live, which imo Viva era had them in their best live form, especially in changing up the old songs.
  23. Maybe Will will become the lead singer????
  24. 1. DAAHF/The Escapist - I think that this right here is the peak of Coldplay. The lyrics are some of the best Chris has made. The melodies are simplistic but beautiful. Every member of the band has a huge role. 2. 42 - Almost as good as #1 the only difference is that #1 has more variety of sound. 42 has some of the most creative Coldplay arrangements though. Between the solos, the lyrics, and the strings - it doesn't get too much better that that. 3. Clocks - The quintessential Coldplay song, one of the finest produced songs I've ever heard. I always get chills when i listen to the first 10 seconds. 4. Always in My Head - The perfect new age Coldplay song, especially for GS. The production is flawless, the lyrics are direct, and Chris Martin's voice is raw. 5. Amsterdam - Used to be #1 then I listened to it too many times... Still so good, the climax is unmatched. My only problem with it is that after so many listens, it tends to draw on a bit.
