AHFOD Reviews by Music Critics
Coldplay has said they don't pay attention to critics, and though that may be so, a 50% drop in sales from an album released a year before is something they will definitely notice. I don't think Coldplay will ever break up and will make music for decades to come... But I think this era will end with this tour.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Im sure they were waiting for sales predictions and when it was revealed to be such low numbers, they panicked and pulled the trigger on the streams. Im surprised they didn't shut down streams completely.

AHFOD Reviews by Music Critics
Same... I mean, freaking Ghost Stories sold more then that and it was supposed to be the "low key" album. I really like the new album, but the mainstream audience wants an edgier sound. I happen to be a Weeknd fan, and I know there is a lot of hate for him, but if you really listen to his pop songs, they are far edgier then most pop songs. Coldplay's songs are too light and happy to appeal in a RnB-heavy mainstream audience. Perhaps why Ghost Stories sold so much is because there was a lot of buzz over a darker sound... Not to mention, they had horrific promotion in America. Ghost Stories was heavily promoted states side, whereas this album was more directed at the UK.

AHFOD Reviews by Music Critics
I originally said this album would better received then the last few albums... imma eat my crow now :( these mediocre 3/5 reviews, along with only 150,000 to 200,000 projected sales, I'd say will end pop coldplay. They will take a five years hiatus, like U2, and then come back with fresh ideas without the mainstream audience in mind.

===The ultimate Oldplaying Thread===S, BS, TBR, P, AROBTTH, X&Y, VLV, PM===
If the oldplayers want to have their corner of negativity they can. I personally can't see how they think X&Y is better then MX or even the new album. X&Y was an over produced cluttered album filled with too many songs that were too long and sounded the same with the same shitty lyrics that old players complain about these days. Now if that's harsh, that's what Coldplay fans like me who likes all their music sees ur guys reaction. Honestly, x&Y has a few good songs I revisit (Fix you, low, white shadows, square one) but MX has (paradise, etdiawf, Charlie Brown, HLH) which imo are just as good, with Fix You being the only one that stands out as a classic. Rather then shitting on the new album, just Look at it as a different band cuz honestly they are a different band ten years later, just like Radiohead is different from ten years ago, and so on.

AHFOD - YOUR reviews
This album is a strong pop album. People keep wanting to classify Coldplay as rock, and they may be considered pop-rock which is fine... But let's look at the facts: Direct, simple lyrics Electric drums with bassy kick Bass in the front of the mix Heavy synths Pop structure in all songs almost Some trap elements in HFTW and XMTS This is a pop album, but a pop album influenced by edm and hip-hop (especially trap). So don't compare this too even MX or ghost stories. This is ane entirely new beast. 1. AHFOD - 8.5 Bombastic, dancey riff and beat, and good lyrics start this album off in the right direction. This is a way to start the album for everyone in coldplays fanbase to enjoy. 2. Birds - 10 The beat is fantastic, I love it... The way Chris sings the verses is gorgeous and the chorus soars so smoothly. Definitely a classic. The guitar play like the rest of the album is 10/10. HFTW - 9/10 What a beautiful song. I love the harmonies and the pre chorus is lit. What keeps this from classic status? Chris has no sexiness. At least when he isn't singing low. And in the verses he sounds too light. AOAL- 9.5/10 The same with the last song, except Chris doesn't need sexiness. He that's why it's .5 better. But they are both lovely songs. The disco/edm flavor flows well with the pop rock vibe. Everglow - 8/10 Uhhh this is a good song, but it lacks the pureness of their old ballads. This is something Coldplay lost during the Viva and MX eras. The ability to make a heartfelt ballad such as fix you and the scientist. In viva there was reign of love which was decent and then a few in MX that were OK. In Ghost stories, the reason why the album wasnt a classic is cuz it lacked heart. This song continues that plan... Thankfully this is the only song that follows that path. Fun - 8.5 I was not expecting much from this one, but it surprised me. The guitar riff in the beginning was so gorgeous I didn't want it to the end. The lyrics are more heartfelt then Everglow and the harmonies between tove lo and Chris are A. Kaleidoscope - 10/10 One of the best creations Coldplay has made. WHY CANT COLDPLAY CHANNEL THE EXPERIMENTAL VIBE FROM THIS INTO AN ENTIRE ALBUM. YOU CAN MAKE AMAZING EXPERIMENTAL POP WITH VOCAL SAMPLES, CRAZY BEATS, AND SHIT... Anyways a beautiful song and amazing meaning. Army of one - 8.5 This one wasn't quite as catchy as I wanted, but the beat is 10/10. The away away, go now is interesting cuz the song is about fighting for ur love. X marks the spot - 5 (and rising quickly) This one is... Changing for me. At first I hated it. Then I thought it was OK just not in the right album. Now I'm digging it. The lyrics are a bit corny for a trap influenced song. But then I remembered it was Coldplay, and he wasn't going to make a song about fucking bitches and drugs. This is a Coldplay trap song. And now I play it in the car with the bass up all the way with my buds and we have the blast. It's a grower and I expect it to end up a 6.5-7. Amazing Day 10/10 This is a classic. The lyrics are great for the pop direction they are going. It's a swaying pop masterpiece imo. I sing along whenever I hear it and its extremely addicting. And the main thing is that it has that authenticity of the old ballads. I love it. Up and up - 8 Great closer. This is a weird ending cuz we got misled with the live version that was way more piano led, why this more synth oriented. The lyrics are good and ends it pretty epically. Overall I gave this album a 86/100 when it comes to song to song enjoyability. I'd give this a 64 when it comes to flow and. Cohesion. And a 75 in production So this albums gets a 82 from me. Classics: Viva - 96 (93-100-97) comparable to night at the opera by Queen AROBTTH - 92 (98-86-90)comparable to the bends by radiohead Strong albums AHFOD - 82 (86-73-75) Torches by Foster the People Good but flawed albums: GS - 76 (55-90-90) comparable to 808s and heartbreak by Kanye West (but a lot worse, kanyes album is on par with Viva) Parachutes 74 (70-76-78)comparable to Sheer heart attack by Queen MX 74 (80-80-60) comparable to night visions by Imagine Dragons Decent messy albums: X&Y 62(65-60-50) -A long shittier let it be by the Beatles (empasis about how much better let it be is compared to this album)

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Tbh, this fanbase is filled with people who do not appreciate pop production or pop trends. I think this album is fantastic, at least a 7.5-8 for me. I keep hearing about the electric drums, and pop production, and all that... Listen to the weeknd or any hip-hop influence act or edm act... They all have loud bass drums and snare. I understand you don't have to like it, but just say it how it is. Don't say its their worst album for sure cuz it sucks, say u dont like the genre they are playing. Its pop with rock influence.Rn the two reviews its gotten are 4/5s. Expect acclaim from critics.

Production on the album
Ghost stories actually has some really nice production imo. X&Y and MX have some horrid production. This album isnt as good as GS and light years away from Viva and a rush, but its good imo

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
For me, this ranks between Ghost Stories and AROBTTH. 1. viva 2. AROBTTH - - - 3. AHFOD - 4. Ghost stories 5. Parachutes - 6. MX 7. X&Y

Production on the album
Haha so long ago, been a busy year since then! And nice to meet you to :) I personally think the production is good. Not as good as viva or AROBTTH, but better then X&Y and MX

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
X marks the spot does not deserve to be listened to

Production on the album
Can we confirm from listening to iTunes versions of everglow and AOAL that the production of the leaked version isnt a great as the released version? Also, what do people think of the production?

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Army of one is one of my fav songs. People in pop have started to trend towards that vocal cutting done, but I love how (I think) it says "Away, away, Go now". And the synths are just cool. I like synth pop and its a great 7.5 song

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
Also the production isn't that bad... I feel like people need to stop fussing over electric drums. I doubt coldplay will go back to non electric drums simply cuz of what you can do with synthetic drums. Also, pop music is almost exclusively electric drums. Other then some crossover hits from alt rock bands, pop music reveres the bassy kick drum.

LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
I don't post much anymore, but can I just point out that this album has the potential to be the most critical acclaim since Viva or maybe AROBTTH. The reasoning is simple: critics didn't like MX cuz it was cluttered and and bad production. They didn't like GS cuz they didn't buy into the break up album concept by coldplay. For the first time since X&Y, Coldplay has made a non concept album, that features production that fits modern pop these days. The two reviews so far have been 4*s. I expect a 76 meta critic rating. I think the biggest surprise will be a 70-80 rating by Pitchfork. Anyways, I love the album, aside from X Marks the spot.

[2015-11-06] Coldplay Performing at TFI Friday (20:00 UK time)
He starts off so well but once he hits those high notes - off key af. But what can u expect from 38 year old who hasn't been touring for years.
- Chris piano vs guitar?
-
LP7- "A Head Full Of Dreams"
maybe AHFOD will be released using TIDAL...? I mean, if coldplay is about to change all their social media and put some major push into advertising this music platform, it would make sense to use their music as an enticement

Where should Coldplay visit for their next world tour?
Vancouver BC Because it has one of the best stadiums in North America in BC place and there is a good community of Coldplayers here!!!
