What tour did you like best? The low key (sort of) tour of Parachutes or the rocking Mylo tour? The light show of Twisted Logic Tour or the uniqueness of the Viva la Vida tour?
  2. The special thing about poltik's ending is the message it's giving. For majority of politik, its about, I think, propaganda (give me real don't give me fake) and war. But in the end, Chris cries out, "Give me love over, love over, love over this!" pretty much contrasting the overall message of the song, saying yeah, I want to know the truth, but I'd rather have peace and love over war. Or at least that's how I've seen it as. Either way, it's epic.

IMO, the song has the best lyrics Coldplay has written. Personally, it's like Fix You, but without the simple lyrics (not the fix you is bad, it's amazing).
  4. This ^^^
  5. A rush of blood to the head... close one between it and Viva la vida... Viva la Vida is Coldplay's Sergeant Pepper, but A rush is Coldplay's Revolver. Viva has this great concept and some pretty stunning songs, but A rush of blood to the head has the best song. Almost every song could be in the setlist. Of course, Coldplay is a band who has a short setlist and uses the latest album for majority of the songs, but lets say the made the setlist to 35 songs and they made a random tour with no new albums to promote. A rush would have more songs in it then any other album I think.
  6. You're probably right:D I guess I didn't really relate to it, or was emotionally impacted by it. It's not like it was the worst album ever, but I do think they can do better. Even if they continue in this direction, songs like HLH are plain amazing. That's one song I listen to all the time. We all have opinions anyways. I think one thing we can all agree on is that LP6 is going to stunning. I really think so.
  7. This thread is ridiculous. Queen went from this: TO THIS: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhiCmOe5GCw I'm not saying I loved MX. I don't regularly listen to that album. But I know if I want to see Coldplay live, I want those songs on the setlist because the pump energy into the concert like nothing else. It is, by far, not even close to being the downfall. They've dropped a bit, imo, but I can give a lot of bands who have fallen apart. Besides LP6 will be amazing because it's coldplay, not some shit pop band we are talking about.
  8. I think something everyone can agree to is that bad experiences can lead to great songs. Whether it be politics, personal things, social issues... These things lead to the best songs. Happy experiences can lead into songs too, but often they are more likely to be cute and cuddly, but boring as it gets older with the listener. Take paradise. First song I listen to of Coldplay. From my perspective, Coldplay was a pop band. I know differently now, but I enjoyed para para paradise. Now I hate it. I hate Charlie brown too. These song are hard to relate too. I mean, who hasn't related to the scientist, clocks (if you understand what the song is about), Trouble, Shiver and I can go on. I related with paradise for a few listens. It brought me happiness too, for a while, but eventually the lyrics became boring. It didn't relate to it because it wasn't about the listener. It was about a girl who dreamed of paradise. I wondered why Mylo got average critic ratings, and I realized that it that it was lacking a key ingredient to every amazing Coldplay album (Viva, A rush...). That ingredient is darkness. What made A rush of blood to the head so good? The sad songs were relatable. In parachutes, shiver, don't panic, trouble are all amazing cp song that are sad. Viva la Vida, violet hill, 42... Pretty mich every song but strawberry swing (which was amazing because the lyrics were so damn good) was sad. X&Y was an average album because it lacked much emotion. Emotion is what makes greatness in music. Happy emotions aren't as emotional as the bad ones. I know a lot of people love MX, but keep this in mind, when you drop your groceries, do you remember the man who picks it up for you or the man who snatches it and runs? That's why LP6 needs to be dark. It can be electronic, folk, rock, country, acoustic, and matters not. What matters is the depth of it and how much the impact of the emotion. Okay I'm done my rant.
  9. 1. Poltik - the most epic Coldplay song ever 2. In my place - It's close, but YEAHHHH HOW LONG MUST YOU WAIT FOR HIM is better then PARA PARA PARADISE 3. GPASUYF - I hate Charlie brown with a passion, and I love GPASUYF with passion. 4. Clocks - Closest thing Coldplay has gotten to perfection... Scratch that, it is PERFECTION. 5. Major Minus - I love the guitar and I've listened to daylight too much so yeah... 6. Green Eyes - I dont like UFO and Green Eyes is fun to sing too. 7. Warning sign - Because PoC is barely a Coldplay song 8. Up in flames - mostly because I dont like A Whisper. 9. A rush of blood to the head - Such an epic song. 10. Amsterdam - Probably one of the best songs ever. 11. The scientist (I missed it) - Because the song is so emotional and I can play it on the piano. 9 - 2 AROBTTH

Lol, I know have a great name:cool: I'm from that cold place called Canada. Anyways, that's why I decided to join, because all the coldplay fans here seemed to be having so much damn fun, I couldn't resist but join in :P @Coeurli Thanks :D
  11. PoC is IMO by far the ugliest song Coldplay has done. Not the worst, because it doesn't plain suck. But sometimes I cringe when I listen to it. I always have to listen to trouble afterwards to purify my soul.

I've been Looking at the forum for a little while now, so I thought I might as well join it. I became a fan last year after listening to Paradise. Of course now I know that it was the tip of the iceberg, but I enjoyed it enough to go on YouTube and listen to their other songs. I started to listen to clocks and, well, I've kind of never stopped. Anyways, my name is Chris. Cheers:D
