Hate to say it, but as much as we all want that, Coldplay isn't making an album for us. The millions of fans who love their ASFOS and Paradises are getting this album i think.

After hearing that ad (AND I KNOOOOW ITS AN AD THAT PROBABLY ISNT EVEN COLDPLAY :laugh3: ) i think Lennyrotts idea of VLV 2.0 maybe is possible. I think a more celeratory, less dark sounding Viva is totally possible. The strings and piano in the ad was wonderful. If it wasnt Coldplay, its still bloody fantastic.

Can I just say that if this is Coldplay... Im so happy they are going back to real strings and real instruments. It's a Coldplay-esque melody. I compared the ooohs in this song to the ooohs in Iris (Hold Me Close) and its so similar its bizarre. Hard to imagine this not as Coldplay. Also, maybe this is off LP7?

An electronic Viva-like lp7? I'd love it. However, I truly believe Coldplay is going for one last big mainstream album before they go into a hiatus and return to just make good music. I expect the most pop-oriented stuff yet. A few EDM songs, I think there will be a Paradise-ish song similar to how Coldplay tried to emulate Clocks with Speed of Sound arguably because it was so popular... tbh, this is going to be MX 2.0. Instead of about a dystopian world, its going to be about them rebuilding it. A celebratory album. Whether it will be good or not rlly depends on if Chris can write decent lyrics and infuse enough alt-rock that it doesn't all sound top-40. Once again though, if they do a Viva 2.0, I'll eat crow and listen to it with glee.

I think that Coldplay should become virtual and make a trip hop album like Gorillaz. Chris Martin can have massive arms and Jonny can like play guitar while meditating. :sneaky:

Just do a straight edm to get it out of their systems xD Naw, I believe that it won't be anything to far from MX or GS. Since the album is linked to GS, it will be heavily electronic. I think it will MX without the UATW and MM and thos type of songs. In their ideal world, 11 paradises. Maybe im being a pessimist (or an optimist if u dig paradise) but the fact they still play mostly MX songs live and prefer that energy tells me they aren't ready to let the charts go yet. I think this will be one of their last efforts to be the "biggest band in the world" before the inevitable slow decline begins.

Dude, i think you have the wrong band. "Psychological trauma/nightmareish dark"? While that sounds great, that's like Kid A Radiohead mixed with Nirvana. I can't see Coldplay going anywhere near there after MX and Ghost Stories, especially since this album is supposed to be celebratory.

I really really doubt that is what Chris means.

what would make me happy is a mix of Viva and GS, so with more orchestra and foreign instruments, but also a fair bit of electro.
