  1. Ghost Story was amazing. It truly was a crime to leave it off the album.
  2. :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D :D
  3. Well, u learn something everyday :) I actually meant at the moment, they dont have any rock cred with MX and GS. Coldplay has made tons of great rock songs.
  4. I hate to say it, but Coldplay doesn't have the rock rep to get those guys. Do a guitar based album and then we can talk about those kind of duets.
  5. It better be a Chris Martin Featuring Rih. Seriously, I tolerated PoC, and it isn't that bad of a song, but don't go back to MX. It was fun, but move on PLEASE. Sorry, thats all i had to say. Can't he sing with Kanye again. Homecoming was great.
  6. I'm really surprised at some of the negativity. The thing is the main music reviewers like NME are giving it decent ratings like 3.5 and 4's. Its the guys in the middle that are attacking Coldplay.
  7. I meant if that was the track listing. Idk why I used the word stage :P
  8. 1. Always In My Head 2. All Your Friends 3. Ink 4. True Love 5. Midnight 6. Another's Arms 7. Oceans 8. O (Part 2) - This is the transition between Ocean and Ghost story 9. Ghost Story 10. O At this stage, this album is almost as good as Viva.
  9. Kingzilla replied to Tash's topic in Ghost Story
How didn't they put this song onto the album. By far the best song out of this era, except O.
  10. I love GS... but AROBTTH is soooooo much better.
  11. Round one: Politik vs Always In My Head Round two: In My Place vs Magic Round three: God Put A Smile Upon Your Face vs Ink Round four: The Scientist vs A Sky Full Of Stars Round five: Clocks vs True Love Round six: Daylight vs Midnight Round seven: Green Eyes vs Oceans Round eight: Warning Sign vs Another's Arms Round nine: Amsterdam vs O AROBTTH 7 - GS 2
  12. Noooooo The Beatles
  13. Trying to picture Chris screaming out lyrics.... Wait... GPASUYF 2012 was sort of metal. I'll listen to that.
  14. No offense, I did like MX, but I doubt they'll go back to MX. We all know Coldplay don't do eras twice, but if they start revisiting them, I think they won't do MX. It's possible though.
  15. Ghost Story is the one that could've fit in imo. Perhaps in place of ASFOS. Such a beautiful song though. And the Coldplay b-sides are so wonderful.
  16. I love it. Your voice has a great tone to it. I hope this goes somewhere, because its wonderful.
  17. I think they could do it, but not this album coming up. They will want to get back on tour, so I expect a similar style to GS, but upped a bit to fit in Stadiums.
  18. I've seen two reviews online that are bad, and five that are good. Idk where everyone is getting the negativity from. Also, the people who said the album was bad only seemed like the majority because they spoke up so much. Majority like the album. I think some thought it would be the best album in the world, which it isn't, and their disappointed about it, but other than that, its a beautiful album with a lot of meaning and a lot of great songs.
  19. I don't think Coldplay will ever do a Kid A. I think they'd only do it if they made a really pop album that was roasted. Then they might.
  20. I'm not sure I want huge stadium songs though tbh. I want bigger songs, but MX was way over the top. A Rush of Blood had it perfect.
  21. oops :P, missed those. I suppose its best just to merge them.
  22. ------- Edit by Sparky [Dec 2014]- Zane Lowe interview - 4th Dec - Chris announces LP7 title (thanks gai) ------------ Don't murder me for putting this thread up, but since there are rumors of a new album coming as early as next year, why not have another speculation thread, since we can never have enough of those. :D So is this going to be GS 2, another big album, a return to a more guitar music... I think they won't abandon the electric influences, but you have to think that they will make a bigger album and it won't be MX 2, thats for sure. I'm thinking An electric Rush of Blood-like album, similar to the draws to Parachutes in GS. Probably a fair bit of guitar, synths, and heavier songs. EDIT: Good morning. Coldplay have today announced the global release of their seventh album, A Head Full Of Dreams, on Friday, December 4 via Parlophone Records. The first single from the album, Adventure Of A Lifetime, is available from today to download from iTunes and stream on Spotify or Tidal. You can also pre-order A Head Full Of Dreams now. Fans who pre-order the album digitally will receive an instant download of Adventure Of A Lifetime. – Pre-order the CD (with exclusive holographic stickers) – Pre-order the Vinyl (with exclusive holographic stickers) – Pre-order from iTunes – Pre-order from Amazon – Pre-order from Google Play The album, recorded in Malibu, LA and London, was produced by Norwegian duo Stargate together with the band’s long-time collaborator Rik Simpson. It features more guests than any previous Coldplay record, with Beyoncé, Noel Gallagher, Tove Lo and Merry Clayton among those appearing across its 11 tracks (12 if you count the buried treasure of the hidden track X Marks The Spot). A Head Full Of Dreams is the widescreen follow-up to 2014’s fragile and lovelorn Ghost Stories, Coldplay’s sixth consecutive worldwide chart topper, award winner and multi-million seller. The band chose not to tour Ghost Stories and headed straight back into the studio to record A Head Full Of Dreams. Revitalised, they’ve made an album that’s bursting with energy, colour and big, life-affirming moments such as the deliciously ebullient first single Adventure Of A Lifetime and the rocket-powered Hymn For The Weekend. Coldplay have never enjoyed making a record more than this one. Nor have they been happier with the results. And, this time, they plan to take it around the world. TRACKLISTING 1. A Head Full Of Dreams 2. Birds 3. Hymn For The Weekend 4. Everglow 5. Adventure Of A Lifetime 6. Fun 7. Kaleidoscope 8. Army Of One 9. Amazing Day 10. Colour Spectrum 11. Up&Up Anchorman
  23. I think True Love is quite loved, but the ones who don't like it are more vocal, so the appearance of a hatred for the song is apparent. This also applies to the album, which is why it seemed like everyone hated to start. Now I know most people have it around third or fourth best Coldplay album, which is extremely reasonable.
  24. 1. A Rush of Blood to the Head 88% - I always thought Viva was my favorite, but when I went from track to track, A Rush won. Not surprising with how many classics are in this one. 2. Viva La Vida and All His Friends 85% - I live this album thoroughly and every track is great. For me though, it doesn't have as many classics as A Rush does, which is why it falls down a bit. 3. Ghost Stories 83% - It might drop, but tbh, this album has gotten better in my books. I love the songs and I love the flow. Even ASFOS is fine for me. I think this is it's permanent place for this album at third unless its taken out by new album. 4. Parachutes 80% - Not surprised by this. A lot of classics and a few mehs. Still a wonderful record though. 5. X&Y 79% - This album has so many great songs, but there are also many bad ones. If they had just thrown a few away, it would be higher in my books. 6. MX 70% - By far the worst. One or two classics, a few solids, and the rest mehs. Still a good album, but their worst for sure.
  25. Round 1: MX/Hurts like heaven vs. Always in my head Round 2: Paradise vs. Magic Round 3: Charlie Brown vs. Ink Round 4 Us against the world vs True Love Round 5: MMIX/ETIAW Vs. Midnight Round 6: Major minus vs. Another's arms Round 7: Up in flames vs Oceans Round 8: A hopeful transmission/Don't let it break your heart vs. ASFOS Round 9: Up with the birds vs. O Not close at all. 8 to 1 for GS
