A Sky Full Of Stars!! (Out now - See first post)
The song is decent and a grower for me. I know that Chris seems to be heavily influenced by pop music so I guess I should not be totally surprised that they would eventually release a song like this one. For me, as long as this is the only track on the album that sounds like EDM music, then thats fine. It is a big contrast though from their previous stuff when you start to compare it with their back catalogue. I personally think Chris vocals don't sound very strong on this track, they almost sound a bit strained. Anyways, I sound like a walking contradiction, I guess I'm trying to convince myself to like it, which I'm sure I eventually will. I always tell myself that the boys are trying to grow and expand their palette musically, so I respect that and try to walk in stride with them.

Guesses on when the Ghost Stories Tour will start?
I wouldn't be surprised if they didn't tour that much. With the separation and all for Chris. Maybe play a few small intimate gigs and head back into the studio. It can go either way I think. Either Chris wants to be out and on tour as much as possible to keep busy. Or he could just want to play a few gigs and maybe head back into the studio and write some more. At least he has his band and music in his life still.

Chris and Gwyneth announced their separation
It's strange to think that we all feel some sort of emotion towards the split. I know it's not the case but, it almost feels as if we are going through the split too. I agree that it just doesn't seem right. That picture just tugs at my heart strings. It seems like a very intimate and personal photo of the both of them together...and they look happy. I always thought that they would be the one "Hollywood" couple that would defy the odds and make it to the end together. They seemed like they genuinely made each other happy. I can't imagine what Chris is going through, and also Gwyneth for that matter. For some reason though, it was always in the back of my mind that one day, this day might happen. I always said that if it did, Chris would write one hell of a song or album. I guess this is what Ghost Stories might be, who knows. For lack of better words, this really sucks!

Ghost Stories Target release
There's a heart after the the 9th track, could that be a hidden track?

Always In My Head
I like the simplicity of the lyrics. Direct and too the point. Sometimes that's better. I like it a lot more than Another's Arms.

I like the sound of that clip! I hope it's one of the songs on Ghost Stories!

I gave it a 7. I love how the song gives off this chill vibe. On first listen it sort of reminded me of a Red Hot Chili Peppers song, I'm not sure why but thats what my initial thought was. I don't mind the electronic drums all that much. I think it gives the song an identity. While the electronic drums are prominent in the song, they aren't played through out the whole song. On the second verse the snare sound changes for a bit. Then at about 2:33 the electronic snare changes to a traditional snare drum sound. I think it gives that part of the song a little more punch and works well. They did that with Atlas too. Jonnys guitar at 3:15 sounds something the Edge would play. I think this song has a lot of different elements in it. It's not their best, but it's not bad. There is something about the song that just works for me. The way Chris voice sounds and sings, or Guy's bass. It works for me.

[Article] Why the surprise single may have backfired for Coldplay (Toronto Star)
I think the press likes to jump to conclusions. Midnight was never officially slated as a single. I personally think they put Midnight out to get everyone talking. To create some buzz. It's experimental and different from ANYTHING they have ever done, so it got people talking. It served it's purpose. I believe on Monday, when they release Magic, it will be a track that is a bit less "experimental" and easy on the ears for everyone. Then, once again, having released another song a week after Midnight(in doing so with Magic) will probably catch a lot of people off guard again, hence, creating a lot of buzz for the official single and band. It seems like a lot of press outlets don't really know about Magic being released on Monday, so they'll be in for a treat! That is just what I think. Anyways, can't wait for Magic!

LP6
Oh Yes! Violet Hill live is amazing!

LP6
I've been waiting for them to make a rock album. With a lot of loud crunchy guitars and loud drums. I really liked during the Viva era how they were messing around with different time signatures, especially on Will's drumming. I've always thought that they have it in them to make an album like that. If you look at a lot of their live performances, they really have a lot of crunch to them. The early performances of Hurts Like Heaven during the festival runs are some of my favorite. The album version is a bit less rockier than it is live. Jonny's guitar is loud and crunchy! God Put A Smile On Your Face is crazy live! The guitar solo at the end!! While I loved Mylo Xyloto a lot, it was by far their poppiest album. I know Chris seems to be heavily influenced by pop artist these days. Jonny seems to be stepping his game up a bit and I feel like they should just unleash him! Im just afraid we'll get an album full of pop songs again. I hope they do songs more along the lines of Glass Of Water, Hurts Like Heaven(live),The middle section of 42, Death And All His Friends, etc. Something along those lines. Oh and they seemed to have steered away from the ballad. I've always thought they wrote amazing ballads. I think another classic ballad surely won't hurt. Im nervous and excited to see what LP6 brings though!

Bono and Chris seem to be really chummy these days. I think it's pretty cool!

This song will be a grower for me. I've heard better from them. But it does seem to fit well with the themes of the movie. I like the chorus the most. I'm not too fond of the electric snare drum. I just feel like everyone is doing that whole snare drum sound now a days an seems unoriginal. I loved Johnny's solo at the end, but with certain songs, it sort of gets washed away in the production and you can't hear it clearly. I know my opinion will probably change after many listens, as it does with some of the boys songs I don't like right away. I think that's one of the reason why I love this band!

Coldplay - Proof (Live Acoustic)
I have been looking for this early acoustic version of Proof for a long time now. I was browsing youtube and saw that someone posted the live early acoustic version. I know I could have posted this elsewhere, but it's too good to not post where the most traffic on these boards comes through! This version reminds me of when I was discovering all of Coldplay's songs for the first time. Enjoy! [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mnFEOi1Fx7w]Coldplay - Proof (Live) 1080HD - YouTube[/ame]

My poems...
Hey guys! Your poems are lovely! You all are really talented and your poems show how unique everyone is. I am by no means a poet. But once every blue moon a line will pop into my head, and these lines just seem to flow out of me. It's these moments I know I have to just run with it because I know they are few and far in between. I am quite proud how this one turned out. It is part fiction but based on a relationship I had with someone for a long time. I was just thinking to myself one day, what if we were to meet again? How would it play out? For some reason I had this idea of use meeting at some social function. And thats when the opening line popped into my head. After that the rest came fairly easy and natural. I hope you enjoy! Standing in front of you, what would you do? What if for a moment, a time, everything aligned? A time, a place, a familiar face. Standing in front of you, what would you do? Standing in front of you, a face you once knew. A glance, a stare, a moment shared. A walk, a stumble, as you meet in the middle. Standing in front of you, now what do you do? Standing in front of you, silence is all you can do. A quiver, a tremble, as the nerves start to assemble. All the bad, all the good, and for what it stood. Standing in front of you, for a moment in time. Standing in front of you, a face you once called mine. A laugh, a dance, for old times sake. This moment, this time, for granted they will not take. Standing in front of you, you're no longer use too. Standing in front of you, you could get use too. A hopeful smile, a graceful kiss, as the air smells of reminisce. The past and present, then and now, has led them both here somehow. Standing in front of you, how would you handle it? Standng in front of you, is it how you remembered it? A familiar scent, a familiar face, lost in this natural embrace. A lover, a friend, a stranger in the end. Standing in front of you, you look into their eyes. Standing in front of you, you say goodbye as quickly as you said hi. But you know deep down inside, that everything is alright. A whisper, a smile, a gaze, a stare... And you realize that it's all still there... Standing in front of you, what would you do?

Do you feel like you know Coldplay personally?
I have followed Coldplay since A Rush Of Blood To The Head. I always knew of Yellow and the album Parachutes. But really got hooked with A Rush. Ever since then I have watched and listened to countless interviews, performances, concerts, tracks, albums, music videos, etc. A lot of members on the board here im sure have followed them closely as well. I was thnking today I cant help but feel like I know them personally a little bit. Like im actually friends with them, even though I have never met them personally. Its a pretty amazing thing to have followed the band and watch them grow from album to album. I was wondering if you guys feel like you know the band personally?

So can we assume that the song Paradise is about Fly? On her spark she wrote,"This could be paradise."

Post piccies of the sexy Mr Berryman..
Is it me or does Guy sound very Scottish when he's talking on his own without the rest of his bandmates? I guess I notice his Scottish accent a lot more when hes on his own.
