I have to agree that X&Y was a somewhat dissappointing departure from the first two albums, but I wouldn't say that it was bad per sé. Just not as good as they could have done. My main problem with it was the production. A lot of the songs I feel could have benefited from some simpler arrangements. Live X&Y came out pretty OK. It took me at least 20, 30 listens to get familiar with all the songs. I do however Absolutely Agree on VLVODAAHF having restored my faith. Having heard the acoustic version of Lost and now the incredible vocals on Yes, I finally feel that they've made the best album they could have made after Parachutes and AROBTTH. It sounds so much less self-conscious and contrived then X&Y did. Potential beauties like Fix You were clouded by them wanting to do too much to such a simple song, it just didn't quite work... I'm already excited about hearing some good B-sides and that new album Chris mentioned coming out in 2009!

It's not a sin, I think almost everyone gave in. I console myself with the fact that I'm buying it anyway in a week =P I really should go sleep, I have classes at 11 today. *stays awake anyway*

I like the stuff he sings in the Don't Panic range best, middle to low with only a few falsetto notes. Yes is really extraordinary in that way!

There was no thread about them yet, so there we go. I saw them live on Sunday @ Pinkpop Festival. They're on a sort of reunion tour. They were ABSOLUTELY AWESOME live, and it takes some show to make me use capitals like that =P What do you think of them?

Got a cold and a load of homework I don't want to do. But on the other hand I talked to the cute girl from my improv classes yesterday *smiles vaguely*. I want to fall in love again.

Well, it's very much your own choice. A very large number of my female friends take the pill, even if they don't have a boyfriend... I don't personally, because I really like girls, and even if I'd fall for a guy condoms would be the way to go. But the pill is a pretty decent solution to your problems, with the plus of also taking the edge off your period, as I'm told. A doctor recommended the pill for me when I was 14 because my menstrual cramps were horrible and I'm allergic to the painkillers that would to the job, but I decided against it. I stick with that decision today, even though my period mostly renders me incapable of getting up one day out of the month. You can never know for sure what those hormones do to your body. So if you have a boyfriend and think it's the contraceptive for you, by all means do it. Just remember it's a pretty drastic form of medicine and not something to be taken lightly.

Was in december 2006 naar Placebo in Ahoy, zat in vak A-n (omdat ik laat was met kaartje kopen, niemand in his right mind koopt vrijwillig een zitplek natuurlijk ^^) Altijd gewoon best beschikbaar doen, dat zijn de staanplaatsen. Qua zitplaatsen is Rang 1 links of rechts van het podium, een meter of 25 van de band af. Uit eigen ervaring: ronduit suck, dan kan je nog beter een slechte staanplek hebben. Alleen al omdat het geluid in Ahoy niet denderend is. Oja, en als je een zitplek hebt en je wil een staanplek bemachtigen; sloop 2 minuten voor het voorprogramma begint op de één of andere manier je überslechtzittende kuipstoeltje, zeur bij een beer van security, dan mag je het "veld" op. Dit gebeurde de mensen voor mij, urgh =P Ik hoop dat ik 7 juni geld genoeg heb en dat t niet gelijk uitverkoopt, ik ga dit weekend nog naar Pinkpop! Dus niet heel veel geld... Ik had stiekem gehoopt dat ze weer Gelredome zouden doen, daar lag ik zaten ik en 2 vriendinnen toen al om 10 uur 's ochtends te stoepkrijten =) En ik stond tegen het hek vooraan, in het midden.
