F.Y.I the show finally is listed on ticketmaster.... to people who have knowledge in this area, how hard is it to get tickets if one goes online right at 12 and tries to get tickets?? I imagine its still a longshot...

I remember listening to the five live tracks that were released a while ago and thinking SoS was definetely the worst... It is still good but not on par w/ "Square One" or "White Shadows." And, be honest, the lyrics are not that great... I can't even tell what he's singing about... That said, the lyrics in the two songs I mentioned before (Square One, White Shadows) are some of the very best lyrics Chris has ever written.

From what I've seen they don't play anything off parachutes except yellow so i think this is a little off... politik is a guarantee, as are clocks, the scientist, gpasuyp, and square one... thats all i know

Man, I am so glad its up.... I was getting worried... I was wondering the same thing about whether or not its easier to get tickets at the box office. All i know is that I was watching the cubs game yesterday and they played 'Speed of Sound' as they were doing the FanCam then mentioned the gig at the Metro. So, unfortunately, this is by no means a secret gig and pretty much everybody knows about it.

warning sign is kinda a hidden gem on the album... they rarely played it live and it kinda was ignored by a lot of people... but there are points of it that are just ridiculously beautiful... when the strings kick in and chris sings "and the truth is... i miss you" the lyrics are so simple and straightforward that it captures that feeling perfectly... on a side note... i found that pretty much everyone who likes warning sign likes amsterdam

wow, i had no idea there was a way to see the grammy performance.... is anything else available? i know the band did a bunch of stuff on letterman, and conan obrien, and a great clocks performance on the jimmey kimmel show (as awful as that show is)

Well it said before that you didnt have to go to the box office to see the show... but I dunno... maybe because it was announced late ticketmaster hasnt gotten around to posting anything yet... but if anyone does find something about it on ticketmaster post it on this thread

I've checked out Ticketmaster a few times and have found no mention of Coldplay's show... but what is of more concern is that they say the Crystal Method is playing at the Metro on the 6th??? Anyone know why this is?

Does anyone have specific details on where/ when to purchase tickets to the show at the Metro? I know they go on sale the 30th, but does anyone know what time and on what website I should go to have the best shot at getting tickets?? I desperately need to attend this show! Thanks

Pretty soon, AROBTTH will no longer be the most recent coldplay album... with that in mind, what does everyone think the legacy of the album will be... what songs will continue to be played on the radio? which will be the fan favorites? which songs will the band still play live five years from now? I think clocks will get more radio airplay in five years than any other song from the album. Politik, in my opinion, will be played in every coldplay show until coldplay stops playing shows. And Amsterdam will be the sentimental favorite for the real fans (the ones who know more than just the singles).... The Scientist will always be my favorite though

By the way that wasnt criticism of the song... it is really a sweet tune

does anyone else here the crack in chris' voice on the word understand ("if you could see it then you'd understand") ... i dont know if its a crack in his voice or just the way its recorded... but i wanted to see if i was just imagining it

how hard is it for a band to get out of a contract? i thought the band was contractually obligated to do two more albums

I actually thought the opposite... I loved Chris' voice on AROBTTH... i actaully think he has gotten better but i think the subtle flaws in his vocals really added to the coldplay sound on past album

Does anyone have a well recorded version of SOS. The links I have gone to sound like they were recorded off the radio and arent really cd quality... still sounds cool just wondering if anyone had a really well recorded version.

theres gotta be more to it... the point was to keep the mystery going and create enough intrigue to spike record sales... i think part of its been discovered but theres more to go

This is what I was referring to when I said ad campaign.... but I guess it's just on the Cingular site not on TV or anything

If you read news on this site regularly you probably saw that the band sold a sample of their single to Cingular and are going to be part of Cingular's new ad campagin. Does this bother anyone? Maybe it shouldn't, but it definetely bothers me.... I can't imagine being in a band as important as Coldplay and making the decision that you want to associate yourself with a wireless company... makes the song lose its meaning... any one else feel this way?

Coldplay interviews always get me pumped for new music..... Chris always has brilliant things to say

Someone already made a post about this... but the way Coldplay progresses with their albums is comparable to Radiohead. Parachutes is like Pablo Honey, AROBTTH is like The Bends, and now x & Y will be a lot like OK Computer... the bands biggest and most experimental (judging from songs like sqaure one) album. Their music is probably a little more like U2 tho
