Yeah I agree. I love concept albums, so it would be good if GS told somewhat of a 'story'. The lyrics do imply broken love, but the artwork and drawn pictures leave me wondering. The algiz rune, and the triangle with the vertical line above it (on the magic artwork), are pretty esoteric. The theme of the sun (next to always in my head), and moon (seen in the magic film clip, as well as next to midnight) seem to be themes intended to represent meaning in the album. furthermore, the use of stars seems to be a prevalent theme in this album, given the stage they perform on, as well as the self explanatory song. The universe, such as the mentioned tangible objects and symbology seem to be ideas being conveyed through the album, or at least through the art and pictures. This tied in with the title 'ghost stories' makes me think that spirituality is present in the album, that correlates to the mentioned symbology. Who knows, maybe he's singing about the 'holy ghost'.. P.S, I do not conform to any religion lol

That's an interesting theory, you may well be right. I definitely think that there's more to this album than the simplistic lyrics would suggest. Perhaps the lyrics are alluding to something deeper than just a love story- or maybe its just that; a love story. With all the pictures beside the hand written songs, and the artwork for magic and on the album itself, one would assume that there is a deeper meaning to it all. Perhaps I'm just over thinking and looking to analyse something that is straightforward, but some of their songs from previous albums have been very thought provoking so hopefully there's more to it than meets the ears. In a purely musical respect though, I don't think this albums their best, however I haven't heard all the songs, so it will be interesting to see how everything ties together. I cant read the second word in the character description of "claude" at the start, and it's frustrating me lol. An interesting observation though; the symbol on the skull at the top of the screen in the opening scene, as seen in the magic artwork.

What does it say about "claude" in the introduction to the song?

I think that although the lyrics may come across as simple, it's not necessarily a reason to disregard the power of the music. A few powerful words are better than a whole song of nonsense. Given the extremely creative art and use of imagery that goes along with the album, I think there's more to the music than meets the ears. For example, in the album art for "magic" there are two symbols printed on a book superimposed on the dove. If u feel like it, look up the symbology

I love this song, pretty simple yet very powerful. An interesting observation, and I might be wrong, the pictures for AIMH on the written track list are of the sun rising on the horizon, and then on the other side of the title is a circle above a line, or the sun above the horizon. Just an opinion anyways. If it's true, I wonder why they chose that imagery.

Yeah that would make sense given that it's a love story. I just thought maybe because it's called ghost stories and that they use imagery of a dove and allusions to magic superimposed on the artwork that it could have a deeper meaning than the surface value of a simple love story. I guess we need to hear the whole album to put it into perspective. But yeah so far I haven't seen any links between the musical art and visual art so I'm looking forward to hearing the whole album to ponder it more haha.

This is just a theory but maybe the meaning of the song "O" has something to do with the symbology of a circle. Apparently circles are frequently used as a symbol for the sun (which is a star; "a sky full of stars") and a circle can also represent the element of spirit, which seems to be a prevalent theme in the album given it's called ghost stories. Also the birds beside the song title may be suggestive of the holy dove, which is seen on the "Magic" artwork. The holy dove is representative of the holy spirit so it all seems to tie together. I dunno I could be completely wrong haha.

If I'm not mistaken, the stars encircled are the "southern cross" ( or "crux constellation" )
