yeah, australia are being incredibly shit at the moment, but knowing them, they will come into form in the test matches. Which will make me sad. I'm going to the trent bridge test match! woooohoooo! his earlier albums are loads better - flesh/sell sell sell are both brilliant. They are more angry, and i think his voice suits that better. I love white ladder but having heard it everywhere it loses it's impact. A new day at midnight, although i liked it at the time, really is his weakest album and i am glad that he says he is changing his sound again for this new album... !

they are rather cool, havent got their latest album though, just their second.... their third is supposed to be a bit shite if its not let us know, might buy it....

i think its all lyrically great, apart from swallowed in the sea tree/me/see shelf/self/self i could write a song, a hundered miles long i would love to see him actually write a hundred mile song... i did cringe when i heard that..... but everywhere else the lyrics are awesome.

im a radiohead fan. im ashamed of my fellow radiohead fans. can someone explain to me since when did radiohead fansd start hating coldplay? did i miss a trend?!!! they are my two favourite bands... i would have thought people like radiohead would like coldplay, and vice verca.... maybe its cos the radiohead fans who did vote this, cant stand it that coldplay have taken the postiion radiohead held after ok computer... but then radiohead said themselves they didn't want to stay in that postition, that was partly the point of kid a/amnesiac.... i'm confused.... :o

Which Turin Brakes album is best? i said this in another link, but it justifies my choice: optimist was quiet, acoustic and actually quite pessimistic. ether song was more up tempo, louder (and generally not as good) jackinabox is mostly acoustic, like the optimist, only its a cheery album with summery sounding guitars. probably optimist is the best (cos im a depressing git ) but jackinabox is a close 2nd!

i dont skip any, i agree that speed of sound would be the one to skip, but only cos i have heard it millions of times already... well certaintly about 70...

i think its better than a rush of blood i dont know, probably only time will tell if it surpasses parachutes... i agree with a lot of teh posts that the understated, more bitter and honest coldplay was so amazing, whilst there is an obvious musical progression with the 2nd and 3rd album i dont think that the new stuff reaches me on the same sort of personal scale as parachutes. however, still amazing, will be up a dawn tomorrow to finally get the album... cant wait.... i think the new sound works better live too. :)

Yeah, i just loved the way he set his concert out, eg, the family section where he played songs about each member of his immediate family...

am loving the ending as well, it really builds up to an amzing cruscendo

should be getting it soon, supposed to be a 'sunnier' album by them.... dunno if thats good, the critics quite like it and says happier suits them, but i loved their first album cos it was a downer, i like sad albums.... oh well, will still be buying it, will get it today if somerfields have it - £9.87, bargain. Although it wont be the dvd edition.... decisions decisions.

yes i much prefer the "new" coldplay, especially since they got rid of chris, jonny, will and guy and replaced them with callum, james, delia and charlie ex-busted... have you heard they are going to change their name too? And sorry, but its "nu-coldplay", not "new" coldplay... get with it.... :lol: in answer to your question, yeah the sound has changed but you can still tell its coldplay, thats what makes it so special.... its not a radical departure, just a step (or giant leap) forward.
