  1. I've listened to the song...over 1,000 times according to my iPod. And the the thing is, I was reading The War of the Worlds while constantly having the song on repeat, and I've finished the book. But now, when I listen to Paradise, I'm constantly being reminded of martians and their destruction of England and my heart begins to sink....lol ! But other than that, it's a really wonderful song. I like their new direction.
  2. I really enjoy it, though the chord progression is pretty basic.....but that's not the point ! The lyrics, what I can make out at least, are very lovely, uplifting, and Christmassy.
  3. I know what you do ! Start up a crazy band that makes music almost as awesome as Coldplay, get famous on Myspace and then get a record deal, and then move to England so people there can get to know you (AKA: Coldplay) and then they ask you to tour with them and there, you've met them. :)
  4. Hey ! I've got about 2 bags full of butterflies, 1 from last year's show and 1 from last Saturday....I'd be down to mail some ! :)
  5. I will gladly send you the audio of VLV from the show...you hear him say it right before the climax of the song (the "Oh oh oh ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh" 's) Ahhhhh !!!
  6. I recorded the entire concert using my field recorder...naughty me. Hehehe. And upon listening to Viva La Vida, I realised that Chris said this: "this is our last time in Canada for a few years" :( :( :( :(
  7. Yepppp !! I've posted some other pictures from last night on my flickr: http://www.flickr.com/photos/29112588@N07/
  8. Well, the Oshega Festival alsts two days (it was yesterday and today), but Coldplay only played last night.
  9. ^Haha ! Don't worry, my knees and feet are still aching ! I can't believe I woke up only 1 hour ago....
  10. Hey marie, we must've been near the metro at the same time, coz the guy who popped the big yellow balloon was only a few people in front of me. Haha ! Took me 2 and a half hours to get home, since the blue line was closed by the time we got to it (at 12:45)...so I had to walk all the way home from Jean-Talon metro. But I didn't mind pushing my legs that had already been standing for the last 8 hours! lol.
  11. Some of my piccies ! I wish more had turned out okay.... Some people got to go home with some of the balloons !! I wanted one... My camera died after this one....:(
  12. Tonight was absolutely amazing !!! We were 2nd row on Jonny's side (basically leaning on the barricade at some points)....absolutely beautiful and spectacular show. Definitely the best I've seen from them (this being my 3rd time of course). Wooooooo !!
  13. Nice ! Yea, I live in a big city with many schools (public and private, both in French and English) and we've been warned that it's very hard to get a permanent job, so I was just wondering how it was for you. :)
  14. Every morning in 2002 I'd watch MuchMusic and "In My Place" would be playing, so I immediately started loving that song. Wasn't till a couple months later (once Clocks came out) that I would constantly hear it at La Ronde (amusement park here), and that song is really what made it such a memorable summer on all the rides with my friends....then I got AROBTTH and was hooked! So since 2003 I've been an avid fan....a little tooo crazy of a fan...
  15. I'm hoping to get into performance next year (university), but music education is also another choice. Has it been hard to get a secure career after getting your diploma ?
  16. Oh, and for high notes, don't think of them as being above your head (when singing). When you sing high notes, imagine you're aiming for something far ahead (like if you're singing in your room, don't aim the note towards the ceiling, aim it for the window).
  17. I remember hearing castrati voices in history class...ouf ! But like everyone said, just breathe from your stomach. In choir, our teacher uses the term "breathing through the hole in your back", and for the proper jaw when singing is just to drop it. And to know if your jaw is dropped, put your fingers right in front of your ears (where that little part covers the ear), and just drop your jaw. When you feel a hole there (in front of the ear), you know that your jaw is dropped comfortably.
  18. Yea, this violinist plays it in a different key because it's very hard to play with flats, since we're not a flat instrument.
  19. I started with the piano when I was a kid, then the violin (been playing for 10 years now). Also play viola, classical voice, recorder, a bit of guitar and I'm learning the flute for fun.
  20. I've made my own string score for each string instrument using Sibelius. If you want, PM your email and I can send it. Edit November 25, 2013: I've since modified the score after having greatly evolved in arranging and composing music.
  21. She is/was sooo pretty ! I saw the wink too and pointed it to my boyfriend, to which we giggled at.
  22. Congratulations to Coldplay for winning 3 Grammy's !! I'm so disappointed that they didn't win Best album and Best record, but especially for the best album. I couldn't help but laugh when they announced Plant and Krauss's win, beause the majority of the audience was not cheering, and when she was accepting they were talking! So ha ha to that. I'm sure everyone expected Coldplay to win (I did of course :) ). Ahhhh, Coldplay.....:D
  23. The other puppets are so hilarious !
  24. I wish my choir could perform Coldplay songs... that was so lovely ! :) Those kids are really lucky to be performing Coldplay, and they look so into too.
