The Glastonbury 2009 Thread
i suspect they do but we don't, and won't until next year. They didn't announce the headliners before sales this year and I suspect this will be no different.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
I didn't mean the studio version, I meant it sounds like a radio session or some such recording. If you compare it to the Glastonbury show or even the Trabendo DVD it just doesn't sound like a big show should, not enough crowd interactivity or volume. I agree about the camera angles switching too much too, this is an afflication of nearly every modern music concert production.

The Muse Thread - Hate This & I'll Hate You
Disappointed with the new DVD. The sound feels far too produced and at many times it doesn't seem like a live show, just a session or some such.

British Sea Power
i have done but, as I said before, I'm not finding too much to be of interest in there but I'm wanting to hear some other opinions before I write them all off. :)
-
British Sea Power
fair enough, I assumed the links were dead - your task now is to go find any highlights from the big bundle of songs.
-
British Sea Power
I'm moving house at the moment but when I get the internet sorted out I'll upload the B-sides.

British Sea Power
Wow, there's a hole I just keep digging. I think I meant to apologise to Odnes Marinot instead. But still, what does anyone who has the b-sides think of them?

British Sea Power
Haven't heard any of their new stuff yet, still hoping I can hold out until the 14th. I can't, but I'm hoping. Will be in Leeds for their tour too, I had to miss the Bradford one a couple of months ago. Thanks for the B-sides you posted by the way Dave, I'm not sure I ever said thank you for it which is a most selfish and stupid way to behave. Any recommendations because, much as I love the albums, I haven't found many greats in there apart from the St. Louis EP?

U2
thanks for that - trailer is great - Does anyone know when 'selected cities' should be announced? Rolling Stones in Bradford's IMAX were great, and I'm not even a big Stones fan, so this should be extrodinary.

Manic Street Preachers
Rubbish song but good fun indeed.
-
Radiohead
Come on - what's with the bickering? More to the point, what's with WASTE charging over £13 for posting two tickets? As handling charges go, that's a stupidly big one. Support acts better be good at £100 for a pair. And by "good", I'm mean it not being Sigur Ros, but that's a whole new thread right there. Still, when it comes down to it - at Manchester next June, it's be worth it. It better be anyway, they'd better be in a better mood than the last couple of times I've seen them.

The Foo Fighters
dammit, missed the November tour and now missed Wembley standing. Still, plenty of time to look on eBay. Must be honest, I only own one album I bought ages ago but they were so amazingly good live at V Stafford last year I want to see if it's a consistent thing.

The Offical Morrissey Thread
I'm not seeing at as racism like the PC Police always seem to these days. However, anyone else appreciate the irony of him criticising immigration whilst living as an immigrant in Italy? Poor Italians.
-
Manic Street Preachers
the ZIP on their page seems to be corrupted though - a pity, but i'm sure it'll be sorted soon enough.

The Radiohead - In Rainbows Thread
That's a piece of genius. And I realised it was a joke straight away. Honest. The quote above is my highlight.

Radiohead
£40 and no cheaper way to get a CD! They'll not be getting my money until a CD's available elsewhere.

Led Zeppelin
wow. On this day when Led Zeppelin announce a one-off reunion show, there's a James Blunt thread higher than this one as I post. http://www.billboard.com/bbcom/news/article_display.jsp?vnu_content_id=1003638786

Manic Street Preachers
The point he's making is that there are Manics songs which make the audience have an active participation in finding out what he's talking about. There's an educating quality to songs like Baby Elian and IfWhiteAmerica........, rather than the 'something all of your audience is already aware of and likely to agree with' aspect regarding songs criticising George Bush or wars. The same goes for many of their other topics. Anyone got any opinions on Send Away The Tigers? Apologies if there's a seperate thread for this. I'm really keen on some of the tracks at the minute and, aside from I'm Just A Patsy, I think the album is really strong. I'm particularly liking Send Away The Tigers, Indian Summer, Imperial Bodybags, Underdogs and Rendition at the moment, but it is a really good album to just press play and listen to all the way through. Seeing them on Wednesday at their penultimate venue from the last tour, Leeds Uni - can't wait (don't really have to!).

British Sea Power
Ooh, BSP stuff. I only have the two albums, being a convert after seeing them in a pub some years ago. Any B-sides would be appreciated as I try to replenish my computer which has lost all the rarities it had on it a year ago.

Apple faces £300m fine over iTunes prices
just out of interest, can you provide me with an example? I am struggling to think of some, but then I don't use online shopping too much - I guess software is the main one. Remembering that it is perfectly legal to charge different prices for things that are sold through retailers and shops due to different land laws/prices etc.. For most companies that sell online in multiple countries, you have at least the option of purchasing it in the other country at a different price and having it shipped to your own. For example, if Amazon.uk sells it at £10 and Amazon.fr sells it at €10, I am still able to buy the latter and have it sent to me, even though it may work out more expensive in the long run. Correct me if I'm wrong, because I won't doubt you if you say I am, this is only how I believed it works. But Ms Morgan does make a good point.

Latitude 2007 line-up announced
Wilco. They get flipping Wilco? And Arcade Fire. The two top bands on my acts-I-really-want-to-see-but-never-have list. There isn't an act announced so far I wouldn't have qualm about seeing, but it's so far south. So far away there's no real way I can get there. Lucky people.

recommend me a cd
if you've never heard it, I reccommend British Sea Power - The Decline of British Sea Power - silly title, great album. http://www.myspace.com/britishseapower

[Favourite Albums Of All-Time Poll] VOTING THREAD
A slightly updated version of my one two posts ago - please link this one instead as the other one includes a couple of errors I made when shortlisting (such as A Ghost Is Born being there twice). I would edit it but it doesn't let me save edits. Argh, I'm sure I've forgotten a tonne of decent albums. Just a quick disclaimer: There is no 'best' albums list, but this is a list of the albums from which I have gotten most enjoyment - Hence there are no Dylan albums or other classics as I only have 'Best of's of these. Also, does anyone else think that including Coldplay albums in the mainstream results may be a bit pointless as it's bound to skewer the results a bit due to the obvious bias? 1. U2 – The Joshua Tree 2. U2 – Achtung Baby 3. Manic Street Preachers – Everything Must Go 4. Led Zeppelin – III 5. Coldplay – A Rush Of Blood To The Head 6. Radiohead – The Bends 7. Manic Street Preachers – The Holy Bible 8. Led Zeppelin – IV 9. Radiohead – OK Computer 10. The Beatles – Revolver 11. Wilco – Yankee Hotel Foxtrot 12. Dire Straits – Brothers in Arms 13.
