Maybe they could just release an EP with these "already written songs" from just before GS, on it before Christmas to finish off that chapter. Then LP7 could remain symbolic as the start of new journey... And just a thought... do they actually really get much say or are they simply obligated to do what they are told by their record label.

I like that theory Greengoose. You obviously have thought about it. So now I'm thinking aloud... Ummm ... now I sorta think I just want to skip LP7 and get straight into LP8!! Farrrrkkk...I do realise this would sort of be like not honouring a certain chapter... So as long as there is honesty, transparency & soul in their music.
