I liked the song when it first came out, but now it's one of my favorites of the last three albums combined. The organ kind of gives off a Fix You vibe and the vocal delivery is stellar. I think it worked well live... I'm not sure why the band doesn't think so. :(
2. Wedding Bells?
3. Hi Rece, welcome to Coldplaying! I hope you have a lot of fun here. :D I will definitely check out your YouTube channel. I love Star Wars too and I would be happy to listen to your Coldplay covers. :)
4. The Coldplay song with the most special meaning for me is Speed Of Sound. It's the one with the most sentimental value. I was going through a dark time in my life in 2012. My grandmother had passed away and my first month of high school was a train wreck. I spiraled into depression and loneliness, dead on the surface but screaming underneath... Anyway, it was a stormy Friday night in September and I was listening to my little iPod Nano when I couldn't sleep. This was from before those even had touch screens, haha. There's an FM radio tuner on it so I was just flipping through stations when I landed on a song I liked by the Foo Fighters. It ended and a new song came on. A piano and spacey synth started and I had such a pleasant, comforting feeling all of a sudden. The singer started: "How long before I get in? Before it starts, before I begin?" The song played on. I was in awe at how much I was enjoying this song I'd never even heard before. This song was, of course, Speed Of Sound. I thought I recognized the singer's voice and sure enough, it was the band who wrote Viva La Vida, Paradise, and Clocks, which were the only Coldplay songs I knew. I liked Speed Of Sound better and decided to track down whatever album it is on. That's how I discovered X&Y, which in turn opened the door to discovering the rest of Coldplay's music. I seriously think Coldplay helped me climb out of my deep, dark hole. It took a few months, but that music really resonated with me and gave me the hope to seek help and get my depression treated. All of this might not have happened if it weren't for hearing Speed Of Sound on that stormy night. I wish I could thank the band personally for this... and that's just what I will do if I ever meet them. EDIT: Sorry for rambling on and writing something so emotional, haha
5. This deer crossed my path while I was on my evening bike ride. I see one almost every day in this spot but I can usually never take a photo without it moving around too much.
6. Thank you! :)
7. That looks wonderful! Do you mind if I use it? :)
8. As @jossec said, it was fairly obvious if you already knew about it. I couldn't really tell in person, but in the live broadcast that I watched later it was very apparent. I already knew the truth so I tried to appreciate the song more for the instrumentals than the vocals. On a side note, they could've at least chosen a better vocal track. Just two years ago, Chris' vocals still sounded great during Clocks. The performance from the original broadcast of GS Live 2014 is one of my favorites partially because of how strong Chris' voice sounds. In contrast, the current vocal track is just average. I've heard much better!
9. Strawberry Swing That's probably because I can't stop rewatching the heartwarming performance from the 2012 Paralympics. :)
10. Welcome back! I hope you've had a fun trip. :D Just remember, in less than a month your dream will come true! :)
11. Happy late birthday!!! :loveshower:
12. Correct! Your turn.
13. I was watching the opening ceremony and it was all beautiful, but the most powerful part for me was the story about the flower growing through the asphalt. The first thing I thought of was Charlie Brown: "Be a bright red rose come bursting the concrete." :)
14. Yay! :) This song is not on an album, starts softly and then builds up quickly, and has lyrics that refer to traveling a very long distance.
15. Welcome to Coldplaying! :D A lot of rumors have said that Coldplay will be touring in India or the Philippines and I remember them doing a video a year or two ago where they mentioned wanting to return to Japan soon. So don't lose hope! As for your second question, they have said that A Head Full Of Dreams is like the last book in a series and it might be the last Coldplay album. They just might tour without new albums, or take a long hiatus from recording new music. No matter what, they do not want to split up so there's no reason to worry about that happening. :)
16. I heard Charlie Brown and A Sky Full Of Stars in two separate stores today. :)
17. Welcome back, @alisbe ! I'm so glad you had a fun and Coldplaytastic time on your holiday. :) Seriously, why is it that Coldplay is so good at "following" people here when they go away on vacation? :D I wouldn't be surprised if @Gideon_Mx is experiencing the same thing right now. :laugh3:
18. Thank you so much. :laugh2:
19. It usually is. :) I'm going to re-watch Coldplay's performance from the 2012 Paralympics today before the Olympic ceremony starts. Then it'll sort of feel like Coldplay actually did perform. :D
20. Hi, @Kamili . I'm so sorry to hear about your grandpa. :( I lost my grandmother almost 5 years ago and that was really devastating so trust me, I've been in that dark place. :( I hope this topic helps you because no matter what you bring to the table, there is a group of fellow Coldplayers here to listen and help you through the dark times in your life.

22. Wow! I remember when you were brand new here, it feels like it was so long ago... Happy Coldplaying birthday! :D :loveshower:
23. Haha that's better than my little story from earlier on in the thread. :D
24. I don't understand why they can't just replicate this stripped down version of Lost! It sounds great here and with a little rehearsal they could still do the song justice. They apparently did play See You Soon tonight in Pittsburgh, though it probably wasn't requested. Nice to see them throw a little more variety into the c-stage set rather than 2 of the aforementioned 5 songs (one being a "request") and a solo cover by Chris.
