When you don't know what's going on behind the scenes and when you genuinely don't have any musical experience whatsoever you're probably going to think that it's "easy" for anyone to make a "pop" song. You're going to think that it's easy to top the charts with seemingly "repetitive, meandering bullcrap". Not everyone is a musical prodigy and has the ability to make legendary masterpieces, very few do. VERY FEW. Some people find it easy to write symphonies (a rare select few) and some people have to work EXTREMELY hard at it. Some people find it easy to write a good pop song and some people have to work extremely hard to do it. Writing music is hard in general and the people who genuinely do it and spend nights as an insomniac trying to come up with stuff have an A plus in my book, even if it isn't in the "highest quality". As a critic you are forced to look at things objectively, and have to refrain from being too sympathetic in order to give a reliable and sound review. In technical terms, Coldplay isn't the greatest but taking it into their perspective and the crap that they went through they really do have some hard workers imo (although after hearing about X Marks the Spot I dunno if they still work as hard).

Interesting theory... Despite the copious amounts of biased ridicule, I do see how the Coldplay mirror applies. As with any group we see ourselves in them and we could relate if we like the music. I like the connections they produced with Chris Martin walking towards the camera as a symbol of them trying to bridge the gap between audience and song, which is actually what they have always admitted of trying to do.

And if you're gonna write a conspiracy theory on Coldplay, do it right. Make sure you get info on their B-sides and EPs. Maybe a connection could be drawn with the Safety EP as well as Brothers and Sisters. Make a connection between the other band members and maybe the odd animal themes used in MX and AHFOD instead of just the apes. (The animal theme is prevalent throughout their music). Link Coldplay's social media posts and maybe where they have toured. And for Guy's sake, mention the other band member's names as well instead of just "those other guys".

So I actually watched this video and I must say this actually sounds like it could be the coolest story ever. But nonetheless some of this stuff actually kinda sounds plausible IMO. Thank you so much. I just finished the video and I must say it was quite empowering. I have always had the thought that the human mind was the only barrier that anyone really had in this world. Mind over matter. This is what all of those ancient ascetics were really trying to get at. Less focus on what you did, what YOU need to do and your fate, and more focus on the universe and its fate. I also think this dissatisfaction also leads to people to be drawn to fantasy worlds and less on material things. Why should you go to work when you could go to the land of Cielonia and hang out with your magic fox friends and the quartet of magical elephant minstrels from the distance archipelago called "Paradise"?
