I can understand the fact that you think that we shouldn't comapre nee music to old. I think that people do tjat because they want to see them make a record that can top their favorite and be great as well, and this usually implies the style matches the old one. But I think like you said I think that we need to grade each piece of as a single body of work and not compare it to something else.

The piano part and guitar riff and the bass riff are all very melodic and sweet and happy and...well uh..amazing to me. I'd put this song in terms of best happy and melodic songs by Coldplay with Strawberry Swing or something. The thing I could see people having a problem with is the drum part, since it resembles the drum line from AIMH, but other than that I see it as a classic Coldplay song. Even the lyrics are pretty good.

If they do in fact reinvent themselves for the next era i wonder what the next genre they do will be. Couldn't see them doing metal. P.S. Watch the EP they put out next year completely blow us away and be better than the whole of AHFOD, MX, and GS combined. It'll then be better than Viva:P

You have a point. But he has some talent. Give him credit for that. And whoever said I said that to be an open minded musician you need to like every musician. I was just showing that you need to be more open minded towards some genres like pop.

People on this forum are so close-minded to other music sources. I listen to Coldplay, Muse, Incubus, Sigur Rós, Radiohead, Twenty One Pilots, BOOTS, Manchester Orchestra, Rage Against the Machine, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Bright Eyes, Kendrick Lamar, J. Cole, among some other pop artists. Realizing that Justin Bieber is a good artist isn't a crime. Yeah, he obviously isn't as musically talented (not vocally speaking) or as creative as Chris Martin but he's still a good artist.

I respect your opinion but it's just not true. You can't turn out like him, and be a joke. Also he used to write his own songs, and he probably helps in the making of the songs that are written now. Coldplay's influences aren't trash or horrendous by any means, they are just radio-friendly and pop artists.

Lol Justin Bieber isn't a horror show. He's a good artist with a good ear. Yeah he's no Bob Dylan but he's a solid artist.

The only reason most people rated AHFOD 1/5 stars is because they say that Coldplay copied Bring Me the Horizon's artwork from Sempiternal :shocked2: But I really want theneedledrop to review the album. I feel like he'll give it a light to decent 7 lol.

After multiple listens, I am really enjoying the album. First listen, I had to get over the fact that this was a Pop Rock record, and I also had to listen to X:shocked2: Second listen, I was enjoying the songs more and appreciating the route they went, and I opened my mind. From there on out this record was solid to me.
