The rant @ColdplayingfromKansas just posted I 99.9% agree with. After Viva everyone expected something even greater then they disappointed lots (not me not as good tho) then people like oh just an experiment they'll get back on track but then the divorce happened and Chris had to make his break up album that was pretty nice actually, but then people were like alright ready for the stadium rockers but thEN AHFOD leaks and im like better than MX and Ghost Stories but its not Viva (close tho). 2000-2008 was great, 2012-now pop experiments that were good sometimes but not the best. They said this album is the end of a chapter for them, so I think pop (though good sometimes) is over after this AHFOD era. But the next chapter, I just feel like it's gonna be Kid A crazy. They just need a breather.

Also Radiohead is a band where on every record from The Bends forward, everyone does their part and everyone is freaking amazing on it. Even Ed on Kid A still did awesome.

Lol Radiohead can make no bad songs. I like every song they've ever made from The Bends to now.

Ahh the man that started it all: the LP7 thread. Nice to meet you. I think mosy people on the forum think the production is meh-bad and some think that the production won't improve as the sound quality does.

The Viva Demos aren't the best quality and they are just piano but I can't believe that they haven't released those songs yet.

I don't think that people mean the album itself sounds bad because of the sound quality, but the production.

He better not get a ghostwriter. But definetely they need to switch producers, maybe not Brian Eno since they've used him so much but maybe Danger Mouse (he's producing new RHCP record), or something cause Stargate was not such a good choice. But I think lyrics suffer from a lack of focus, and sometimes I call BS on that "the best songs arrive from the sky". Hymn For the Weekend arrived from the sky with "drinks on me" and definetely not their best work. Yellow arrived from the sky in a way; Guy was like look at the stars but it took them forever to work the song out and they beat it to death. Sometimes you need to reivent your mantras and ideals.

For this album I think that only the following will stand he test of time: The only songs that survive future tours are the big sellers and the classics. Rarely do they play oldies but goodies. They need to learn from Muse cause Muse played songs from like 1999 and 2002 and like the DEEP CUTS for their shows this past spring and Coldplay needs to play We Never Change or A Rush of Blood To The Head or like Bigger Stronger, or Twisted Logic (etc.)

If they release Hymn For the Weekend as a single and give it good promotion before the album comes out, pretty sure they could debut at #1. The song had Beyoncé on it and it was made for the charts. I'm surprised it wasnt the first single or Zane Lowe's World Record Debut.

Somebody should do a remix of this album and take out all of the bad production stargate gave us. I'll buy that copy. (Though I'll still buy this one, songs are great.)
