When Antics first came out, I liked it but not as much as TOTBL, I love TOTBL. I dug out Antics about 3 weeks ago, stuck it on the iPod and I'm starting like it alot better now.

 

Which album does everybody prefer?

I would have to say that my favourite is Turn on the Bright lights too. Its just such a great album. I like antics of course, its still a good album and i just adore Take you on a cruise, but TOTBL is just so dark and deep......yum...

wow.. the ever lasting question of which album is better liked... TOTBL or Antics....

 

 

I have never been able to answer this..... I love them both for different reasons. I mean, I did discover them with Antics... and TYOAC was how I fell in love.. but TOTBL houses my anthem NYC and PDA! Not to mention is the album they autographed for me when I met the for the first time back in 2005.... :( I am torn. I refuse to answer!!! Next!!!

i hope ppl are not quick to judge the new Interpol album...from what I hear, Pioneer to the falls and Mammoth are much better than Heinrich Maneuver.

 

This from a very impartial listener.

^^I really like Mammoth, it sounded great at KROQ Weenie Roast. I like Heinrich Maneuver too and I'm sure there are going to be stronger songs on the album since they have said they poured thier heart and soul into it.

THM isn't the best new I've heard... but it is a good 1st single... Its the 'slow hands' of OLTA.... I like it.

I have the video and mp3... I think its going to be one of those memorable gigs..... like the Detroit show they never speak of....

 

I can't believe his guitar blew! smack dabb in the middle of PDA!

^^Yeah and after watching the video again, you can tell he had problems throughout the whole performance. There is one part in PDA where the camera shows Dan and he is kneeling at his guitar petals trying to adjust them and shortly after that, Paul announces they are having technical problems. Paul looks quite good in this video too :)

I was really hoping it was a time filler since the Killers had backed out.. :(

So there are UK dates, Birmingham, Newcastle and edinburgh in august and blackpool and london in november according to nme.com.

Me too. I'm a huge fan of The Killers but Brandon was sick with Bronchitis and there was no way he could've sang and I was hoping Interpol would get an extra 15-20 minutes. Another thing about the webcast, they didn't show Carlos much. It was more the other 3 (I'm not complaining though!)

 

A nice person over on the official posted this video of NYC from 2003 Lowlands Festival, I downloaded it and I think its great. Everybody here has probally seen it but I thought I would share anyway :) Anybody know if there is more video from this festival?

Interpol to play intimate New York show

Hometown will get a taste of new material next week

Interpol have announced an intimate show at New York's Bowery Ballroom next week.

 

The show will be the band's first time to play their new material for a hometown audience just weeks before the release of their third album 'Our Love to Admire'.

 

As previously reported, the band recently announced their biggest UK shows to date when they will play Blackpool's Empress Ballroom and London's Alexandra Palace in November.

 

The band previously played a secret show at Bowery Ballroom in October 2004 when they kicked off their 'Antics' tour.

 

Interpol play Bowery Ballroom on June 5.

 

 

 

:bigcry: I found out too late.... the tickets were sold out. :cry: so I guess I missed the bus on this one.. BUT rest assured... if I am off that day... I WILL be going into the city to wait around for them.... :sneaky: maybe the boys (Interpol) will have sympathy on my soul and let me in!! :wideeyed:

^^Yeah hardly anybody on the board got any. I check my email thru my cell phone at work (don't have the internet at work...thanks to the buttheads that abused it and got it taken away) and I have Interpol google alerts and when I checked it this afternoon, I got an alert saying Interpol at Bowery Ballroom and I was thinking 'what?' and I got home and saw they had scheduled a date and tix were already sold out. I'm sure they will be back in NY soon :)

I doubt they'll be back there anytime soon. That was a last minute gig before they left across the pond..... I bet you that had nothing to do with management either... this was all the guys planning too..... which is why I think its going to be special...

What are the chances they'll do an ireland gig at some stage?? I mean they played ireland in 2005 and surely u'd do it around the time of UK or with the UK dates even? We always get left out!! Nobody loves us....

its still the early stages of the tour... I think the second leg include the rest of the Europe and possibly some more NYC shows.. :wink3:

Well heres hoping! Id so love to see them again, and im scared of missing out. We'll probably have to wait for ages though. Its still reassuring though to think about second legs though!
