Hey I liked Interpol loooong before 90% of people here, and they simply ARENT this good.

 

They are like a trend.

trend my ass!!! I was blinded by the rap and hiphop facade for many years... until Coldplay came into my life.. then I branched out and started listening to more rock based bands in my early 20s.. I discovered Interpol late last summer... and not because they are some fad.. but because they're bloody good!! :angry: :P

What if you find yourself saying the same thing about rock in 10 years?

 

Its like everyone just loves Interpol on every music forum I go to. Im not saying its an unhealthy trend or you should be ashamed for being a part of it, but simply enough if you didnt see 50 users with Interpol signatures and avatars would you have taken notice as quickly?

 

I mean Interpol were POPULAR after their first album, they were a band probably all of us had heard of at least once at the time (And NYC was a brilliant single that must have got around) but then at some point a lot of people fell in love, and since then a lot more people who I never would've thought would like Interpol, are showing the strong interest.

 

Eh. I thought they were going to be a band I'd really like and when I got disappointed by their new music I didnt know how to react (Especially as everyone else loves them now).

 

But back to them being a trend! Its so much easier to show your love for Interpol because everyone knows who you're talking about and they are a band you can talk about with a lot of people (Like in this thread). Would your interest in them had held as strongly if nobody was talking about them and they werent in every thread?

 

Its Interpol overload- a trend that is bouncing off everyone from the internet to parts of my life. Still not sure what to make of it...

Well let me make it clear that little of this is the fault of Interpol, as far as credibility goes they are the most credible thing going right now.

 

I saw Queens of the Stonage on TRL the other day :sick: The Killers have been on the OC :disappointed: Anytime I actually begin to proudly like a band its like I flick onto MTV and their sipping champagne off a strippers breasts with P Diddy in the shot.

 

No actual examples of that but Im sure it happens :sneaky:

 

And Franz Ferdinands PRICK lead singer constantly going on about how they just wanted to make a pop band that makes pop songs jeesus christ. Interpol are my heroes in comparison to these people.

OK, agreed. But I've heard a LOT of good music, Im sure you have too, better then Interpol of course, and through lack of interest I just find myself leaving a bands CD to dust off in the corner as I'll forget about them

 

Interpols trendyness means you're interest in them grows, is extended. If it wasnt for their popularity, Im sure people would have began to forgot about them and their last CD (Which was released like I dunno 8 months ago?).

Nah, I have to disagree here. Paul Banks is one ugly moffucker, seriously now, Camu, be quiet, he IS.

 

Ladies are attracted to his voice and all that. Daniel Kessler is a very handsome man though, yet hes the lesser mentioned of the two guys. Carlos D is also very ugly but looks ok from far away, hes a freak, Allessa was totally right (She showed me the way!).

 

Yeah, so Paul banks, in most cases girls seem to be attracted to him by his style and shenshitivity and all that harky.
