Manufactured Pop Trash

I'm familiar with Clay "Ache"ken as American Idol was shown in the U.K., but although he can at least sing, I think his style of music is very bland and unappealing. Then again, I think Ruben was very overrated, too - like a vastly inferior version of Luther Vandross.

Don't think either of them has released anything remotely decent since the competition.

I think American Idol and U.K. Pop Idol have one thing in common - the first winners (namely Kelly Clarkson and Will Young) were head and shoulders above anyone who have followed since.

The competitions have gone downhill since - the greatest example being Michelle "Fat"manus. She was useless!

Oh lord. I mean, yes, the man can sing, but i just think he shouldn't be THAT popular. haha..i certainly don't think my mom should own his record either. :)

It's always "mums" who seem to go for those kinds of acts - except MY mum, fortunately.

She likes disco house, Will Young, Joss Stone and Jamie Cullum. She does watch the shows (as do I), but doesn't vote or buy the product afterwards (with the exception of Will Young). She likes Kelly Clarkson, too - but I think that's O.K.

Kelly Clarkson is alright in my books too.

My mom loved Canadian Idol. She actually voted and stuff. Scary.

If you're so desperate to listen to a "chart" star who looks good too' date=' I suggest you give Joss Stone a try. She happens to have a phenomenal voice!![/quote']

I only like one cover she did of the white stripes...but her voice bores me... :/ She can sing..no doubt about that...but I don't know..I just don't like her songs... :(

*Was there anything worth voting for?? The winner of the first Canadian Idol was a Buddy Holly lookalike, wasn't he? I saw him on "World Idol" last Christmas.

Stick to Sarah McLachlan, that's what I say! I saw her in concert a couple of weeks ago, and it was a classy show.

*That's a fair comment. I wouldn't call myself a fan, either. I was just using her as an example of someone with a commercial edge who actually has some singing skill, as opposed to all the MPT out there!!

Sarah McLachlan is cool...definitely better than some of the other crap our country has the tendency to birth.

Then I suppose I'll just have to take your word for it!! I'm sure they can't be as bad as "B*stard", though!!

Well, they're actually called Busted, but I think my name for them is far more appropriate!!
