lol is ok because everyone knows what it means. but i seriously have to take extra long to read some people's messages because every single word is written in that internet shorthand.

i cant stand it either, but after doing it for so long you kind of start doing it yourself. taking lots of notes with a fast teacher forces you to shorthand your words. the funny thing is when i'm typing my papers i notice i shorthand words. and when i'm on this board i shorthand some words, but i always go back and edit it.

yeah i do it in class when i have a professor who talks really fast. i always say to myself "i should buy a handheld tape recorder and tape my lessons" but i never do because i'm lazy.

and plus if you want a really good recorder they're often expensive. if you buy a cheap one you have to sit on the front row just to pick up the voice.

I hate the slang shit that should be restricted to people who want to say a 269 letter text (txt) message when you only have 160 letters

even then why can't you send two texts it only costs 12p

Tom Peed, I LOVE your cat!

Tom Peed- you are the best for writing that!! I am thinking the same thing when people type like that!! I mean, it doesn't take much to take the whole damn word!! :D

Thanks again for pointing it out...

urgh, i hate it when people use slang a lot! i mean once or maybe twice a sentence, fine. but like every word! i have a friend who does that all the time and i'm like "you took a test and were proven to be gifted!!! this is how you type?!" blaaah!

my hands just get lazy sometimes, so there's my excuse. anyways, i hardly ever do it. just the lol i use like in every post!!! sometimes i do the ppl one. :D, but never the others.

haha i know what you mean...

i read english papers and i find that instead of writing

"Digression is used in Chaucer on many occasions and may be seen as a strength, however it could also be seen as a weakness" pour example...

i have written

"digres usd in chauc on many occas + may b seen as strength h/ever also w/ness"

ahaha
