just wondering who else thinks Fix You is the X&Y version of the Scientist? The Scientist is my fav Coldplay song and probably one of my all time favorites and Fix You is just like that...very passionate and touching....especially when it was used in OC. However I don't hear much praise for Fix You on the forums...I hope it becomes a single so I can sing it in karaoke.

Agreed. Fix You totally changes pace half-way through and is much harder than the scientist. Both What If and Fix You are awesome.

Fix You is an excellent song and will be the second single off of X&Y. There are plenty of threads for Fix You. I even made one saying that I have the audio off of the SNL performance.

i liked on the snl version (i have yet to hear any other version) how they did the outro/bridge/chorus thing (think the ending of the scientist with the ooohs and aaaooohs) and sang about tears streaming down your face. wonderful.

This song is absolutely beautiful... more Amsterdam-ish rather than The Scientist though.

it's one of my faves on the album at present. it starts off a bit schmaltzy but as soon as the piano starts plinking in slightly followed by the acoustic strumming it really starts to pick up. when the leccy comes in you just know it's gonna kick in big. the ride gets stronger and stronger and then when it kicks in it's really BIG. The layered vocals are probably best used on this song. A really really uplifting song, very anthemic and likely to be big a permanent live favourite.

I read in NME that Fix you could be the new Trouble. Yea I think so that it's more like Amsterdam especially how the songs end, start with piano then the other instruments join.

I like this song however it isn't my favourite, I think when the video will come out everybody get to love it.

fix you is fantastic, possibly my favourite song on the album. i had been listening to the SNL performance loads before i managed to hear the studio version so i had high expectations. i love the album version though

It has a smashing killer end, just like Amsterdam, Politik, and Everything's Not Lost. Just Frickin' Awesome.

Also, "Lights Will Guide You Home" seems like lyrics from about a hundred different songs...But Chris did it again...he made them his own.
