Rilo Kiley is opening the 2nd set of U.S dates but I know the show I will be at, in Phoenix, is being opened by a band called Black Mountain. I have never heard of them. Can someone please give me some insight on this band? I cannot believe that one of the biggest bands in the world has an opener I have never heard of. Oh well, no biggie, I am just wondering who this is.

I googled Black Mountain, and came up with the mountain chain here in NC, and an Austrailian Jazz Band...their old. So I doubt that's it. :P

yeah i googles and it looks like they are from vancouver. Ig you search black mountain coldplay you will see some of the shows they are opening on. I think Rilo picks up on the tour on 8/30 in detroit.

I don't know who Black Mountain are but I do know that I used to be in a band called Black Mountain when I was like 14 or 15 or something.

 

We haven't reunited and signed on to open for Coldplay though, as far as I know.

OK I posted this in another form. I live in Vancouver BC (Canada) and Black Mountain is a local band here who just released there debut CD a few months back. There website is http://www.blackmountainarmy.com . They play music from the 70s. Very old school and retro (hippy rock). I was just FLOORED when there producer (Colin, who also recently recorded my band) phoned me and told me the news that B.M. would be opening up for the August Coldplay dates. This is crazy news here in Vancouver! I have experience working in the music industry so I am trying to be a roadie or something for Black Mountain....We'll see! Fingers crossed.

i heard something about ARCADE FIRE doing some gigs with them. Coldplay likes them so hopefully theyll do a couple of the shows cause that Rilo kiley isnt very good IMO.

The first time I saw Coldplay, Grandaddy opened up for them. Now THAT was a good show. :cool:

 

The second time there was no opening act, and the third time The Music opened, and they're the suckiest bunch of sucks that ever sucked.
