aww i waiting at 10 to watch it....'Tommy Lee the Naked Thurth' was on....guessing it was only in ameirca then lol

Chris is humble' date=' my friend. Would you prefer him to sit there and tell you that they'll be the biggest band and be remembered by everyone in 100 years? I think not. Besides, them thinking they're not the best only pushes them to be better everytime. [/quote']

Maybe he should stop going on about how crap his lyrics actually are? Hes a little boy, writing shit lyrics with no thought other then on commercial profits, and feels that admitting it is a way of getting away with it. Hes begging for sympathy, and trying to be modest, in a way which is like "If people are under the impression I think my lyrics are shit, then they'll be open to liking them!"

BAH Chris, BAH.

yeah, I was starting to get annoyed with the whole "we suck" repetition from Chris. I mean, he opens up the show with "Sorry about the lights because they make you see how ugly we really are." This comes from the man who GWYNETH PALTROW chose to marry. Give me a break.

u2tu830? It must suck going through life not recognizing humor when you see or hear it.

Reilly? Please. Like I'm even going to bother responding to someone who has never had not one positive thing to say about coldplay, when they have so many. I prefer his insecurity to superiority any day of the week.

Call me COCONUTs but that looks like a response to me

Hahaha! I sooo knew you were going to say that!! So predictable... :D

Victaniac, if the type of self-deprecating humor that Chris repeatedly uses has you ROTFL, I feel sorry for YOU. He can be entirely hilarious without it; whenever he does it it makes me cringe because I feel Coldplay has already established itself and Chris does not need to deprecate himself in order to foster acceptance.

Did you see people cringing in that room last night or did you hear them laugh? Because I don't know what you heard, but I heard people laugh, and I did as well. You certainly have a shit-load of other people to feel sorry for.

Does anyone know where I can find the mp3s or the mpeg videos of this show??!

If I remember correctly, I actually heard silence the moment he said it. I've been at concerts where he has said that and fans actually started screaming "STOP" at him.

I'm just saying it's unnecessary, that's all.

Sigh. How do I get tangled up in these discussions?

For fuck's sake u2 don't be an ass. Chris has also joked the other way around, saying things like "Obviously 4 handsome young men, possibly making the sexiest music out there right now" and crap like that. It's just Chris' sense of humor. He's human, we don't always have to like other people's sense of humor, but I surely don't mind Chris's.

It's true what he said at the beginning (either last night or the MTV one) that as a front man everyone expects you to talk to the audience 24/7 and then when you screw up and say something they don't like, they get bothered. "It's terribly unfair" Chris said...and hell, do I agree.

i'm not sure they're going to be remembered for more than two albums that sound the same and one that should drop off the earth.

For one...you can say that you think X&Y is shit, that you don't like it, it'll never go anywhere, ect, ect. One thing you most certainly cannot say, it's that it sounds the same as the past two albums. Do you not have ears? How is this not obvious to you?

Secondly - are you there in the recording room with every single band in the world while they record, edit, produce, ect? No? Ah, well I didn't think so. Chris says they used computers to finish off In My Place and from this you gathered that they suck? I'm pretty sure a hella of a lot of bands do that as well! They just don't say it. Props to Coldplay for not giving a crap and actually saying when they get inspired by other bands and nick things from them and when things don't go well in the recording room. They're human, after all, and you can't base a band's exellence on how they recorded one song.

dear dumbass,

if you where able to read and comprehend, i know that's multi tasking for someone like you, you'd obviously see in the post that you quoted of mine, that i said two albums, being parachutes and arobtth both sound strikingly similar, whereas X&Y should drop off the face of the earth for it's bellowing sub-parness.

i have been in a touring band for two years now, and recorded and have been recorded with countless bands. if you want to talk recording, you've picked the wrong fight. Simply put, when you put a scratch track down, it ensures that you can record each instrument seperately on correct time and be able to mix it well. It's apparent that if coldplay couldn't get "in my place" in correct manner to be able to record it that they, obviously, aren't half as talented as even i once thought.

I'm not saying that no band uses computers to finish off things; my favorite band, Radiohead, uses computers to 'finish off' things by filling their sound, but this is a rare case in music where they used computers to piece the song together from bits that they didn't fuck up originally in the studio, which means they've had a hell of a time trying to play that simple of a song, which baffles me.

furthermore, the band admitted to ripping another band off, trying to COPY their drums, which is a whole different spectrum from simply being inspired by.

Everyones fighting

The beautiful, beautiful forum

No seriously though guys nobody takes kindly to childish name calling "ASS" "DUMBASS" anything Ass related, and Im powerless! ...But the mods like to kick some ass. :sneaky:

Victaniac = Dumba$$ (edited for Reilly ;) ). Don’t start crap when in the end it’s unnecessary. Reilly and I expressed an opinion, no need to shit on it when you eventually come to the conclusion that it doesn't really matter.

I agree with Reilly, let's make the forum return to its beautiful state.

Radiohead fanatics can be so annoying, just bash at Coldplay every chance you get. I saw the Vh1 segment last night, Coldplay using computers on ONE SONG constitutes as them not being talented? Have you listened to their lyrics? And their beautiful chords and melodies? You obviously are too far up your Radiohead butt to even realize that. Radiohead using computers is fine (you don't know if they use them to fix things up "piece by piece" or not) but Coldplay does and they're not talented?

sure i'm a radiohead fan, but i still know good music. sure, coldplay's good for listening to when you want to sleep or when you want to have senseless dribble being played in the background, but the fact still stands:

if you're using a computer to piece together a song you couldn't successfully record as easy as in my place, you're not as good as you're made out to be. i have listened to their lyrics, have you? i'm glad these lyrics from yellow can sum up the talent:

your skin

oh yeah your skin and bones

turn into something beautiful

and you know

you know I love you so

you know I love you so

wow. deep. and those chords and three note solos are incredible. give me a break.

They have deeper songs than that  But whatever. I'm not here to fight.

Back on topic  ... I thought it was a pretty good show excpet, a bit too short. I thought they easily could have had another half hour or so but thats alright!!

And yeah, it is sad that people join the board just to announce how much they hate the band. I do hope they know they are just making complete fools or themselves ;) .

Hehe - ok - just wonderin. You don't look very happy in that picture man. :D

has anyone actually got any mp3's/ the actual video of the vh1 storytellers gig, or anyone know when it's gonna be on uk tv??
