I assume the operative term here is 'least favorite'; that's a far cry from 'worst song'.

 

But one Coldplay song that fills me with no sense of inspiration, feeling, or even belief, is "Warning Sign". Sure, Chris' voice is sincere, but the bland music that accompanies it doesn't convey an honest emotion the way "The Scientist" or "Clocks" do. Even "A Whisper" sees the music mirroring the content of the lyrics, but "Warning Sign" does nothing for me.

 

Actually, let's tie that with "God Put a Smile Upon Your Face" -- potent rock from a band that rarely comes across as such, but any genuineness somehow flees the scene of the crime.

^^ Yea, that's one thing about the band. Their 'genuineness' seems to run away when they are making louder / more interesting music.

good god!! i absolutely LOVE warning sign :o and i'm so glad they put it back on the setlist but hey everyone's entitled to their opinion...

i love warning sign too!!! its my favourite coldplay song :o

Such a rush and Fix you (because it is quite annoying...) I´m getting used to A whisper, but after what I read (about I ran away being cut off the record), I HATE IT !!

i usually skip a whisper and daylight.

I said "A whisper" but that's from the albums... if i had to choose my least favourite non-album song it would be "Bigger stronger"

Wow, its just so interesting how songs can be so polarizing. Warning Sign and GPASUYF are favorites of mine, but some posters hate those, while I can't stand Swallowed in the Sea, but some think it's Coldplay's best song. Weird.

i would say daylight but i like that one only cause the band likes it so much---they play it in many gigs--including this tour

Wow :stunned: ,I guess this really goes to show how different people's tastes can be,really interesting,because I feel the exact opposite way about Warning Sign,I think this song alone is why I appreciate Coldplay that much.

 

Mine is probably A Whisper too,it's a fine song though.

the fact that everyone does prefer different Coldplay songs to others shows what a great band they are really :D :P

Yeah... No one can say that they shabbily did their songs...

 

Sir Raptor of Nonsense has a point though about A Warning Sign- I thought it was quite beautiful until I heard it during their concerts. The guitar parts just don't gel... Especially when they're doing the verses... the whole song just sounds like it could fall apart at any time. They do tend to struggle when they play this song (unlike say Low or Yellow) :o But I do give them credit for managing to keep it all together

Green Eyes is the only song on all their albums that I have to skip..

I can say this without hesitation that A Whisper is, and always will be their worst released song. I'm not a big fan of X&Y either, but I'm sure it'll grow. A Whisper though....three years and it still hasn't improved.
