August 9, 200520 yr *sigh* This is exhibit A as to why I'm not keen on music videos. Wandering around trying to make sense of the world as the song plays is cliche. Performing onstage in front of a crowd -- also cliche. I don't just mean Coldplay, I mean EVERYONE -- there's so very little originality left in the video industry. I'll give them credit for not feeling the need to add a busty chick(see the Killers' "All These Things That I've Done"), but it seems there were more profound option available for them. When I heard it was to be a live video, I was at least pelased that the piano would be replaced by the guitar. Of course, they opted to only do the crescendo live -- the only difference between that and its studio counterpart being that you could heard the crowd sing along with the final verse. Chris didn't even add the "Oh oh oh oh oh ohhhhhhhhhhhh" bit. In all, a very disappointing effort for a song that's never been nor will it ever be radio-friendly. Should've gone with "What If", fellas. Or even "Swallowed in the Sea".
August 13, 200520 yr I like the end when the crowd sings along. :) The top Coldplay songs always have their videos showing Chris Martin walking great lengths while singing. Yellow, The Scientist (albeit in backwards motion lol), and now Fix You. Man, the anthem at the end sent shivers down my spine, and I was not even there lol.
August 13, 200520 yr I love it, I can watch it over and over again... Shivers down my spine all through it, especially when the drums kick in. I even got tear-eyed while watching it now.. Shows how much of a sucker I am for it lol.
August 14, 200520 yr I love it, Chris is sooooooooooo cute in it, and as soon as it came on tv, my eyes widened and I jumped right in front of the tv and kept my eyes glued to the screen. It's been played alot over here, so is SoS, they're overplayed alot in my opinion, but, I'm going off topic, anyway, I love the bit where he's swinging that thing(light bulb? ) and when he's running. I didn't think too much of the bit where they're live though........
August 14, 200520 yr i think its a good video ... not their best video but its good ... nice and touching when all the crowd join in at the end ... 'lights will guide you home and ignite your bones and i will try to fix you' :D
August 14, 200520 yr yeah i like the scientist video too. i like the yellow and in my place videos as chris's funny personality comes through, quite genue. :) you don't see that in many videos nowadays, just lots of women with not much clothes
August 15, 200520 yr no ... thats at the Bolton Wanderers football stadium - The Reebok Stadium in Bolton
August 16, 200520 yr I actually don't mind how the croud sings at the end. It's kinda cool. My favorite part of the video is the fireworks. It's been 2 months and that part of the song still gives me chills.
August 16, 200520 yr Author the fireworks rule!! same as the glasto show... the anthemic ending is also cool although i've read here that many people don't like it
August 16, 200520 yr I like it very much. It's original ! At the beggining I was a bit bored because I thought 'ohhhhhhhh they made slowly picture all the times' ... but the second pat on the stage is so great that you can't be disappointed ! Marvellous !!!! :D
August 17, 200520 yr However it's not their best video I liked it very much....the video really fits to the song.
August 17, 200520 yr how does the video fit to the song???? i cant see that---personally---i was expecting something better for the first part----the second part in the stage is awsome :P
August 17, 200520 yr yeah i like the scientist video too. i like the yellow and in my place videos as chris's funny personality comes through, quite genue. :) you don't see that in many videos nowadays, just lots of women with not much clothes wats wrong with that? :P Fix You = Great Video
August 17, 200520 yr It was alright... It was... pleasant. I liked that bit at the end where the crowd start singing along and then Chris ever smiles! Drool!
August 22, 200520 yr Yeah, this song is godlike or something. I was walking home from Driver's Ed and it's very cloudy with big puffs scattered across the sky. My iPod starts playing Fix You. So hey, I thought it would be cool to do the whole video walk/run thing. Ok, so it's still cloudy, but when the chorus starts and he sings "Lights will guide you home" the sun breaks through; I'm wearing a white shirt, so I just start to glow (literally) The cool thing is, I'm walking home, the sun is in the South, and that's the way to my house. It happened twice more again, but ONLY during the chorus. Very cool.
August 22, 200520 yr I should point out that the accentuation on the streetlamps and headlights is very clever, proving that the director was at least competent.(Allegedly the wandering bit was Chris' idea to throw in. Not your best, Mr. Martin.)
August 22, 200520 yr Author i know!! the whole "symbolic streetlamps" thingy is very cool cause they're obviously a "lights will guide you home" nod :)
August 23, 200520 yr I find this video a bit bring, just like the SOS vid. But whatevs, they're still cool :)
