Strange Coldplay experiences?

Featured Replies

Okay, so the Toronto Coldplay concert was last night (have fun Montrealers!) and I went to that and it was brilliant. As a result, I decided to wear my Coldplay shirt today to kind of show my pride I guess. I go to work, do stuff, blahblahblah, get off work, get on the streetcar to head back home. Now I sit at the back and there's this woman on the opposite side just sitting there. I've got my Coldplay t-shirt on, and I'm just sitting there reading the newspaper. She kind of beckons across the aisle and goes like "Hey, did you go to the Coldplay concert last night?" And I'm like "Uh yeah I did actually! Were you there too?" and she continues by explaining yeah she was, she was there with her daughter who hooked her onto Coldplay. She normally doesn't really listen to this type of music (more reggae, jazz, folk) and that yeah, she said she had a great time and she was really impressed by CM's singing abilities and the fact that everyone knew the lyrics and were singing so loudly to it. We talked a little about their success, and Grammy's and Chris Rock and somehow, I managed to slip in something about "tension of opposites" and how X&Y's supposed to represent that, the highest highs of our days mixed with the lowest of lows. It was kind of weird, just sitting there in the back of the streetcar with the sweltering heat, chatting excitedly about Coldplay and how much fun it was, me a 19 year old university kid working for the summer and her, a 40 year old plus hip mom who had accompanied her daughter to the concert.

Really speaks to the collective existence of the Coldplay audience eh? I love my boys. :D

Had to laugh at the this bit in your post...

me a 19 year old university kid working for the summer and her, a 40 year old plus hip mom who had accompanied her daughter to the concert.

'cause that could be me, lol! (Only my daughter's too young to take so I get to go with an other "hip" 40 something this Saturday night to see them play in Massachusetts! Yea!

ya thanks for telling us to have fun last night! the concert was WAYYYYYYY too unexplicable for words. I was dancing and just into the music all night, snapping awya, singing and screaming and I lost my voice by the end of the night. And I almost had tears in my eyes too when In My Place and Fix You ended.

isn't it so fun talking about Coldplay concert experiences? :D

I had an experience kind of like that. I was wearing my coldplay tshirt and was checking out of a hotel when I heard behind my back a woman saying..."look she has a coldplay tshirt on" I turned to look and it was an older lady with her daughter. The daughter said something about how she was dissapointed in not getting tickets for the Chicago buzz gig. I told her that I had tried for the tickets too and we chatted a bit about our love for Coldplay. It's always nice to meet total strangers who share love for our lads ;) It totally made my day.

i havent had any strange experiences...wait! i had one but its not cool... i was walking with my coldplay t-shirt and a guy yells at me"coldplay sucks!" so i turn around and gave him the finger..it wasnt nice..i felt bad :/

Haha! I'd probably flick him/her off yell out '**** you!' at the same time.

I do the same thing when I see someone with a t-shirt of a band I hate.
