anyhoo... I have been a Coldplay fan since 2001... and I have never written on my hand.. :embarrased: but you are young and impressionable... so' date=' I completely understand. ;)[/quote']

OWNED.

????????????

Chris's assistant Vicci draws the sign on his hand with some sort of a sharpie marker... and he jokes about it being toxic.

I scribble notes all over my hands all the time and am fine.

Personally though, I get kind of annoyed when people copy something like Chris's equals sign. I always get the impression that they are doing it just because he did and that they haven't really looked into what the symbol stands for. Usually the people who have looked into it are the sort that find their own original way to express their support. And besides... nothing kills a symbol's power quicker than it becoming a fad... just look at what's happening with Lance Armstrong's bracelettes...

But hey, if you know what the whole fair trade thing is about and you still believe in it enough to want to copy the equals sign, it's your hand... or arm.

Yep I know what it's about, I usually go to the site :D

you are right acknowledge101...

chris use to draw on his and hand/arm and on his piano some make trade fair reference (the site address, MTF of the equal signal)....

he use to draw it on his hand or on his arm and he also have t-shirt of MTF too (i bet he get them for free). but he sometimes draw on his hand more things, when he was going to have lil apple he had drawn on his hand the word baby.

Gracias por explicar eso.

can i make you a personal question?

your profile location says you are from california but your flag is german and now seems you speaks spanish, so where are you really from?

D'accord. J'abite a Califonia. Pero soy Aleman y Australiano (no se si eso es correcto.) And I'm just crazy so I know a lot of languages.

well that's interesting ;) acknowledge101 but i personally think that learn a lot of languages or know a lot of languages is not because you are crazy lol, know different languages is a good thing :)

chris uses "a highly toxic marker" all the time and he doesn't mind. *g* neither would I. ;)

I used permanenet marker on my hand so i don't think it does anything really, honestly i'd say its all alot of crap!!Has anyone died of ink poisoning??I don't think so!? :/

Teeny Bopper.........

Anyways.......Pencil lead is not made of lead...its made of Graphite and has been for some time.....you can only get poisoned if you put it on a open cut...and you put alot of it.......and if I were Chris Martin I personally wouldnt like stupid kids putting that symbol on their hands....it shows that its him..and everyone copying is taking away from his individuality!!!!!!!!!!! :stunned:  :dozey:

Hey, jeez, what's wrong with you? Why do you always act so mean? Have a sense of fun. :embarrased:  :(

Hey, I've done it! And I'm not going to lie or feel stupid about saying that yes, it was because of Chris. But NO, it was not just because I want to "act like him" or "be him" (I'd have to grow a penis for that, wouldn't I?), it's because I honestly think it's a brilliant way of making a campaign more known. I did it for 2 weeks back in July and about 15 people asked me what it was all about. I told them and really hope some took action, because they all seemed fairly interested. True story.

That doesn't make me a teeny bopper, I hope. Guess I'll have to go wear lots of pink and stop thinking about the deeper meaning to music and just care about the hotness of band members to be that.

There's been a lot of threads about this whole "drawing ='s signs on hands" business and everyone seems to have the same argument. Can't we all just friggin' lay off each other?

^very well said! ;)

But NO' date=' it was not just because I want to "act like him" or "be him" (I'd have to grow a penis for that, wouldn't I?)[/quote']

haha, true! :D

i've drawn the symbol on my had once or twice when i was bored and had a permanent marker (i also inked up my arms with random designs while i was at it). nothing wrong with giving a little awareness about the cause, i've already been to the site and found out a lot about it (as well as from interviews).

and some time ago...like 2 years around i wrote 'make trade fair' on my hand and i happend to have a family get together. my uncle asked me about it and i told him about it and i found out that he buys some of the fair trade coffee they have!

i don't do it often though, i dunno i'd feel odd. just done it a couple times :P i personally don't think it's really wrong unless the person doesn't know the depth of it, and just write it because it was something they happend to see on chris' hands.

that whole finger tape business though....don't really know where i stand on that because there is really no point...
