lotteries are a bad idea, as its not fair to people that have wanted to see them for years, and never had the chance.

take live 8 for example, someone i know got tickets, and mainly went to see robbie williams, great for them, but think of all those people that have wanted to see pink floyd for years, sent in 20 text messages, and got nothing.

its crappy, but they should set up a fan club, and make people pay for pre-sale info, it would cut down the amount of "casuals" and touts getting tickets, and the die hards would almost be guaranteed good tickets.

 

I, personally, despise the lottery system, simply because it fucked me over big time. For the current American leg presale, I wasn't chosen for the first lottery thing, then I guess I got another email for a second presale? Well that musictoday site is shite. The first problem was it completely froze. Then it made me register. By this time I was having panic attacks about not getting anything remotely close. 15 minutes later I scored 3 tickets, fairly far back.

 

I was happy to get them, obviously. It wasn't until a little later that I was getting pissed off about it. I think that I would have much prefered to have payed for a presale than let dumb luck determine how close I'd be to the band.

 

Then this shit about not releasing the dumb tickets until 2 weeks before. I got my tickets to the Tweeter Center show FOUR DAYS before it. What the hell?
