My opinion

 

Chris - wet hair/gelled hair, um not a good look for you luv, sorry...

 

The performance was kind of slow, but the audience seemed to dig it.

 

Will made me laugh coz he was harmonising and then it looked as though he wanted to carry on singing Chris' bit, but realised 'it's not my go'.

 

Very cross coz NOT ENOUGH PANNING/CLOSE UPS OF GUY BERRYMAN!!!

 

What, couldn't the camera get over to his side or something???

 

I give it 6/10.

I liked it, sort of, but I could easily tell they were miming it :angry: I dunno what rating I'd give it, but I think it was stupid they didn't do it live. :angry: Oh well.............what can you do?

I think it is all mimed because the producers don't have enough time to sound check everybody.

i think chris sings and evryone does their backing vocals as normal but all the instruments are mimed.

 

to me it just seems a waste of time. i don't know what the reason is for not doing it live maybe they haven't got time, money may have someting to do with it or they can never get the sound right on these programmes.

 

back in 2002 coldplay played live for TOTP which was better, i don't remember them playing any of the singles on CD:UK.

 

i hate the way its always advertised on the telly too, 'live in the studio' which makes me thing its going to be a proper live band performance, very annoying.

CD:UK actually force people to mime. I remember once the Darkness took he piss by unplugging guitars halfway through their song. Very funny.

its a real shame because in the UK on bbc, itv and channel 4 they are not many live music programes

 

the only one i can think of is later with jools holland i'm sure theres a couple more

 

both TOTP and CD:UK allowed live peformances a few years back

And that's why the only people who get on "Later" are REAL musicians. That's about the only show that's really worth watching - it's excellent. :angry:

The problem is, if shows like TOTP and CD:UK insisted on LIVE performances from anybody, they wouldn't have very much to show because a lot of the chart "acts" are incapable of doing a TRUE live performance which would sound adequate!!

Incidentally, I'm currently watching the World Music Awards, and the performances on there ARE live, I'm happy to be able to report!! :)

TOTP has been a complete joke for some time!! It's kinda appropriate they're using comedians as presenters nowadays!!
