WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAT!!!

This album is HOT!! I haven't stopped listening to it.. and I just got it today.... damn, this cat is amazing.. bringing it back baby!! yeah!!

Camu. I've heard this album. And i gotta say. It's damn hot. Gold Digger is fine. And that song with the dude from Maroon 5 is pretty dope, yo.

Kanye west=best rapper out there....he's truly amazing...just like the song diamonds and gold digger...he has skills

The only thing that I don't like about Kanye is that he doesn't really rap about anything important (apart from "diamonds"...which i didn't like that much). It's just random babbling. I mean, it's good babbling, but still...babbling.

^and thats what true hiphop is about.. babbling feel good music.. I think this is why I love him.. :)

viva Kanye!

kanye west has steped in to my hall of fame----its good to see people in power speaking what i am not able to do :P plus his album rocks :P

I never realised it until just now, but this guy's flow absolutely sucks. It's good pop music, but if you have listened to any kind of real hip hop in your life, you will be able to hear instantly just how off this guy sounds nearly ALL of the time.

His flow, its brutal. Its not even flowing.

apparently YOU are the one who has never heard real RAP before... hiphop isn't music.. its a culture.. and Rap music is just one of those components..... whats your version of good 'flow'??? Eminem??? pah! Kanye does so flow.. and his beats are amazing.

oh wait... this is suppose to be the 'Miceal says something completely mundane and nothing to support his opinions or views post' ahhh its all clear now..

you like to get a rise out of me don't you.. :P

Although nobody mentioned him, Eminem's flow is most definately better. Like any decent rapper, he gets into the beat, he manages to be imaginative but still sticks to the beat, that is the most important thing. (PS: Eminem's flow has become incredibly repetitive in the last 2 or 3 years but still not as obviously bad as Kanye's).

Now then you have Kanye. His flow is weird, actual rap fans will agree there, those who are fans of him feel that the 'weirdness' is a part of him being unique, I'm a fan of him and I still think it's ridiculous. His vocal, with the beat, and the timing, is a huge catastrophe. It's like someone sitting down at the piano for the first time and playing keys, not knowing which notes are supposed to join up. It just does not work.

Kanye is more of a bluff then anything. He is incredibly creative, but he is no rapper. If you ask him to freestyle for 2 mins over a beat, with no flashy hooks or un-necessary changes (Bluffing), you'd probably laugh. He just isn't talented in that aspect.

I can listen to Kanye, I love his songs sometimes, but as a rapper, he is still bluffing. I havent listened to all of this album but I have not heard him stay in tune and loyal to one consistent beat or idea, he mixes it up and really messes around. People mistake the "Revolutionising the genre" with Kanye not having the talent to rap properly. That's the basic fundament of the genre he's creating music in.

As for flow that is better, you can really look anywhere, from Jay Z to Outkast. Hieroglyphics, Jedi Mind Tricks, both of Full Circle's albums are completely consistent in flow. It's from the underground to the main stream, anyone's better at rapping then Kanye.

If you want something to actually get excited about, Little Brother's new album will be out September 13th

kayne is cool and I like what he said about Bush. :)

Someone send me the album please.

as a rapper, i prefer Jay-Z over Kanye. But Kanye's cool though.

Jay Z was goooood back in the day.. (93-95) Lately he's become to big for his own self. Rap music isnt always about staying with the beat... ANY REAL LYRICIST will tell you that... staying in tune.. rhythm.. yes.. but it doesn't always have to 'rhyme' persay... what do you call bee-bop?? Jazz?? Ska? Or dare I even say.. Slam Poetry.. those are things that don't necessarily always 'rhyme' or stay with the beat... but create a beat of their own....

Outkast=good

Full Circle=bad

Jay Z= meh

Eminem=good (killer flow.. his is unique) and by'flow' I don't mean 'rhyme scheme' I mean the manner in which his delivery is sent...

don't come at me like I don't know hiphop or 'underground' shit, I was raised on that joint right there.... I'll introduce you to the girl from Southside Queens.. and she ain't pretty.....

As a REAL LYRICIST i can quite honestly tell you that you just said the biggest pile of crock that i have ever heard. All of the best songs rhyme. All the best songs have catchy one-liners. All the best songs look good because the lyrics flow together. You go on about Kanye West and his Ability/Inability to flow. Well it is an Inability because none of his lyrics actually rhyme in any way shape or form. And it is the same with most rap artists. The beat comes with the music and they are always out of sync with the beat. Even if it is only slightly. And that is because their lyrics are not supposed to rhyme or look good. They are trying to tell a story. Where on the other hand a lot of the lyrics in other genres rhyme. Rnb, Rock, Jazz, Blues, Country, Folk etcetc. On the majority of cases the lyrics in songs from those genres rhyme.

Oh and yes. All the best songs have rhyme in consistent places i think you will find. Do the research. Work it out.

listen here young buck...

when I say literally rhyme I mean 'a-b-a-b' that gets a bit boring... don't you think.... thats what Reilly is saying.. his rhymes dont 'rhyme' (at least thats how I understood it).... how does this man not stay on beat??? AND thanks for elaborating on my 'examples'.. all of which helped influence what rap music is today.... ???????

are you actually going to try and school me?? Because you're talking to an 'old schooler' here.. lol and I still believe Reilly just loves to agree to disagree... :P shit stirrer.... :P I never said all songs didn't need to have some sort of comformity.. tis I why I said 'they don't necessarily have to "persay" to be a good song'...... you can read, can you not??

  lol

this is a great thread.. i get my laughs in as well as kisses...

don't come at me like I don't know hiphop or 'underground' shit' date=' I was raised on that joint right there.... I'll introduce you to the girl from Southside Queens.. and she ain't pretty.....[/quote']

Woop de doop. What I knew was this Southside Queens Girl would appear, to believe that makes her argument hold more water. In truth, I never did come at you like you know nothing, I was just stating my freshly realised opinions on Kanye and your ego is wayyyy over-sized if you think I came in here just to get a rise out of you.

Rap music isnt always about staying with the beat... ANY REAL LYRICIST will tell you that... staying in tune.. rhythm.. yes..

But this is what Im saying, there's staying with the beat and showing originality, but what Kanye is doing I dont even consider Rap, it's too out of tune. It's very strange flow, it's listenable I guess, but only if you aren't looking into it very deep.

but it doesn't always have to 'rhyme' persay...

I never said that

thats what Reilly is saying.. his rhymes dont 'rhyme'

Of course a rapper doesnt have to rhyme every line, that's like saying every poem has to rhyme. It's ridiculous thats what you thought I said.

Silverion's post was pretty ridiculous. What I said had nothing to do with literal rhymes, maybe you didnt read it in assumption Im just try and annoy you Camu.

  • Author

 now I am confused.. lol

I never took your post literally either  however I know how your mind works.. :sneaky: I enjoy a good rubtle discussion with you anyday Reillio.... I hope you know this... :P

as for "Mr. I am a real rapper" Silverion (or whatever.. ) how the hell does he know I am not a rapper?? Or a poet for that matter... yap yap yap.. thats what I say.. :)

we've agreed to disagree.... I think.. thats whats confusing... :embarrased:

*out of subject*

kanye west, as we all know, said last time that "Bush hates african americans"

he was cut off in the east coast live broadcast and in the west coast censored

yesturday in the benefit concert kanye sang "jesus walks" and changed his lyrics

instead of saying "but if i rap about God, my record wont get played" he said

"but if i tell the truth, i wont get played" in reference to being censored last week

that was really kool----i really liked the way he stood up for what he believed in and i he was able to express what powerless me cant :smug:

The ironic thing about Jesus Walks is that it's a record about God that DID get played

we've agreed to disagree.... I think.. thats whats confusing... :embarrased:

Well we could have established that without all the babble. I think he can't rap, you think he can. It's completely a matter of opinion, I can't try and prove he can't rap because although his flow is definately weird, people see it as unique, whereas I just see it as bad. It is a matter of opinion.

As for Late Registration, the production work, as expected, is just crazy. The songs seem pretty good on first listen but I need to listen more.
