If he did that, then maybe, just maybe, I could earn a shred of respect for him. Â you just can't go down there and volunteer. My sister is a Registered Nurse.. and they didn't allow her to go down there because she needed a certain amount of hours worth of emergency response trainning... so the simple idea of anyone just going down there to volunteer seems like a logical one.. but not at all possible. Matter-Eater Lad
the whole afganistan bs is a conspiracey theory like NASA making earth quakes to kill world leaders...i cant disprove that buts its pretty easy to say its BS. Â haha!! I never heard that one before.. but at least you got the Sr. one right.. he knew better. DubbleYa on the other hand.. knew he had to go back in and try to be all greedy with is need for energy and look for oil. The US gov't (or the rest of the world for that matter) ...can't afford for these oil pipelines to fall under the control of the Taliban... its definitely an underlying factor. terrorism is just a front.. grant it.. its a threat.. but the real major factor is the oil. Don't forget what we're going thru now.. oil prices and stuff.. we are in the midst of a major energy crisis.. and what we should be doing is finding alternatives to solve this energy crisis. Â But this thread isnt about the war in Iraq.... its about our 'President' and how he never seems to take responisbility for his actions.. and how he isn't a great leader. He sucks!!! :laugh3:Â Â dubya greedy? i think not...we get what we want and we help out the iraqi people in return and fight some terrorism...if it works out ok..it'll be a win win situation...even if it doesnt work out...it was a good try..I still have faith it that it will work out..as a leader goes..he a damn good one...if the war goes wrong then he isnt..but as of now its a long ways away. Are you fucking serious? The man gives tax breaks to the rich, and allows some of the biggest corporations in this country to hold off-shore bank accounts that do not get taxed saving those already rich CEO's another few million a year. Bush has been raised with a platinum spoon in his mouth. He comes from one of America's riches dynasties. He knows not how to connect with the everyday American simply because he has never been one. Oh yeah and Nick, your take on Iraq ia as always simply absurd. My favorite line of your is "even if it doesn;t work out...it was a good try" This makes me sick. Do you realize all the innocent people who have lost their lives in this criminal war. How about the troops from the USA and other countries that lost their lives. Do you see the problem that has been created. There is terrorism there when there wasn't before. There is bombing there when there wasn't before. Although Saddam is a piece of shit, the situation is more dire now because W and company stuck their big fat nose where it wasn't needed. I'll stop rambling now Nick but seriously sometimes you blow me away with your creepy brainwashed posts.

He very well could have donated money. And I definitely have, too. $20 altogether, which might not seem like a lot, but it is to a high school student like me. However, I think that if you're a celebrity and you want to go down there and volunteer, no one is going to stop you. I saw on the news that Harry Connick, Jr. and Macy Gray were both handing out food and clothes to the refugees in the Astrodome. It just gets me mad that he continually bags on the war in Iraq. I mean, he says he does this for the troops who "shouldn't be over there." But...the fact of the matter is, the troops ARE over there, and I don't think they appreciate someone saying that the freedom they are fighting for is unnecessary. I think that's the reason why I can't stand the guy so much...just because (to me, at least) it seems like he's contradicting the very thing he's trying to do. Never tell a soldier that.. thats a slap in the face. I support the troops.. just not the war.

I prefer the democrats, but at this stage, I don't even care if a republican becomes the next president, I might even be happy as long as he doesn't turn out to be another Bush. Heck, I just want to see Bush step off the world stage, he's already created more mess in this world than I ever thought possible for a man (short of becoming the next Hitler). greeneyedlady
One, I don't know where you got the "Bush is resigning" info - but it's false. Second "He never said it was a letter from all america, he clearly said "a letter from michael moore" and about speaking for most of us---i think he does, cause what he says in the letter is exactly what the whole world is talking about, not only in america, but in other countries------dont you see it---we are the laughing joke around the world and i dont like michael moore either, though i agree with his politics---but even known republicans have admited that what says in the letter is the TRUTH" Well, I'm a known republican (former Democrat - but this was back when I thought I knew everything) .. I'll get back to you on that (MM's 'truth') but I wouldn't hold my breath. I'll sooner see Hammer pants come back in style than find a grain of honest truth from MM. As far as a 'joke' of the rest of the world. If that's what you care about, fine.. but I don't live my life by the 'rest of the world's' leave, and neither does our country. What is a joke are the folks who've reaped the benefits of our nation, but are so eager to impress their buddies overseas they'll mock everything they can about our nation as long as it gains them some points. But as soon as the sh*t hits the fan, who do they look to? What really turned me off the Democratic party years ago was how low and irrational the left were willing to take their arguments; "Don't agree with us? You're a Nazi." I'd rather be right and alone, than wrong with company.
colduser
Greeneyedlady, I respect what you are saying but I disagree completely. Do you honestly believe that bush has made zero mistakes as president? Do you think he is above reproach? You see, this is what irks me about die hard republicans. When Clinton was in office, all the republicans did was attack him all the time. It was the era of Rush Limbaugh and Newt Gingrich and Monica Lewinski. Although Clinton did make some mistakes I can admit to it that he did. Republicans always justify every action of their president regardless of if he was right or not. Surely you see that bush has fucked up plenty while in office. The moderate republicans don't bother me, it is the neoconservatives that are incharge that really scare me with their morality platform. Bush ran his campaign on promises of being a compassionate conservative but I see no compassion from this president. Tax breaks to the rich, trying to change the constitution to discriminate against gays, starting a war in Iraq that had no ties to Al Quada, Having his then attorney John Ashcroft arrest law abiding citizens in Claifornia for smoking medical marijuana, threatening to arrest doctors in Oregon for physician assistes suicede when that state had passed a law stating its legality. This president doesn't stand for the republican platmforms of smaller government, less federal spending, and allowing the states to govern themselves. He has taken the republican party into a dangerous area of Christian morality. As Dylan so appropriately sang over 40 years ago, Times They Are A Changin'.
