Sadly, because it's not a U.S east coast hurricane. Seems like the media only pays attention to hurricanes in the Atlantic that threatens the U.S.

Well..the tsunami had so much media attention because it was such a catastrophe that they couldn't really ignore it. But if you notice - they've been quite a few tsunamis this years and none have had any media attention. It's like - a tropical low in the Gulf would get way more attention than a hurricane, say in the Pacific would, any day. Why? Who knows.. but it's something I've noticed.

I guess maybe less people are affected in a way... I mean when the US gets hit, economies worldwide are affected, whereas a hurricane hitting Latin America would have less impact on say Asian economies I suppose.

people lost their lives reagrdless.... its an impoverished country... so their lives aren't as important is the message I am getting from the lack of news coverage... :cry:
