No, but the fact that, according to Q, they are not the best live act in the world, don`t have the best album out at the moment, and don`t have the best track out at the moment either, but....oh yeah, they are the best in the world. Erm...how do they work that out then?

Just b/c they didn't win the other three, it's strange for them to get Best Act in the World. There's no formula for these awards > Best Album=Best Act=Best Live Act=Best Track. the winners were voted by the readers of Q magazine.

That may be so, but if they were the best act in the world, wouldn`t it stand to reason that to get that title, they would have to be the best live, put out the best albums, and also put out the best individual tracks, surely these are the things that makes a band the best in the world?

 

Anyway, that`s just my opinion on it, I`m just erring on the side of common sense.

I understand what you're saying..that would make sense. I'm just saying that it's not strange though. Perhaps the voters wanted to even out the awards to two other talented bands?

if that's the case, then perhaps the readers think otherwise...it's the vote that counts.

if coldplay is the best band in the world today does not mean that they to be the winners of the other nominations...maybe people are considering the fact that all of their songs are great...i dunno...

i agree. i think the best qualification of being the best band in the world is how receptive are the people of your music. it's not based on some nominations by random people.
