Avion Flu

Featured Replies

Yep I am really worried about this...... what will we do... they are talking about closing the country whislt it passes.... no work no money no food no house... bugger ... its been said that it could affect 25% of the worlds population and no one will be safe... it does not matter if u live in Somilia, The US or the UK...

and the mortaility rate could be as much as 50 % that means a potential off 650 million people dying as a result of this...

life as we know it even post spet 11 will be so different for ever...

u will know someone close to u that will be affected bv this... its not a matter of if anymore more a matter of when !

Far too much unnecessary panic going on as usual. If you spend all your life worrying about something which may or may not happen, you'll probably die of fright before it DOES.

Just get on with your life......................................

its called being safe. we didnt do it for katrina and look what happened.

common sense and scientist say they'll be another major pandemic, its not a matter of if, but when. we must be prepared for it.

It's impossible to "be prepared" for everything which MIGHT happen, because you can't predict what it will be or where it will strike.

New viruses can appear any place at any time without warning. If it isn't Avion flu it will be something else - but if you want to worry yourself into an early grave, then that's up to you...........................................

OOOHH...this was on a science magazine one year ago..the goverment didnt listen and then prefer to invest on the war...

no....we could invest in war and fighting it at teh same time. it had nothing to do with that. it had to do with katrina showing our goverment what happens when we dont prepare for things that we know can be dangerous. we learned our lesson with katrina and now were going to do whatever we can to prevent any dangers that we know of.

^It still wouldn't be enough................................... ;)

a little is better then nothing. it would be foolish not to atleast do all we can. it would be beyond foolish.

^There's only so much you can do against the destructive force of nature..............

There was so much written in the Swiss press that my mother forbid us to order a Chicken burger when we were in Mc Donalds with her.

People are worrying too much, if you ask me.

true, but atleast there are thing you can do. and they do help sometimes.

Very true!! Far too much panic!!

You gotta differ between being safe and panic.

Being safe would mean in this case watching the avion flu and looking for suitable countermeasures... What's going on here in some parts of europe isn't suitable any more, it's panic.

Baviara for expamle forces their chicken farmers to let their chickens in their cages. Stupid, If ya ask me.

I'm staying calm and I'm still eating my chicken burgers ;-)

^You can't get it from "eating", anyway!!

i think you dont understand me..or i dont know..but what i was trying to say is that in a science magazine the katrina thing was explained and everything a year BEFORE it happened

^You can't get it from "eating"' date=' anyway!![/quote']

I heard on TV today that you can get it if the meat or the eggs are not through-roasted.

You should always cook things thoroughly anyway - it's common-sense!!

But not eggs, at least not here...even though it's really disgusting.

^And also dangerous because of the risk of listeria etc.

i'll start worrying when it's transferable between humans. Hopefully, that day never comes.

That is apparently inevitable, but worrying won't help, anyway.
