I kind of find them the same. I don't know Favourite Nightmare didn't knock me off my feet or anything.

I.. really.. am liking this new album. I keep seeing so many people say it sucks and stuff.. I dont think it sucks at all, though I do like their first cd alot better, this is also a good one:)

I'm starting to really like 505. Thats my kind of arctic monkeys. :)

Ever listen the album grows on me a little more. But honestly I had higher expectations.

same here, I like it, but I know where you're coming from. But I kinda like the "newer" style.. and i like the vocals in the new song alot.. not better than the orig, but i think he shows more vocal talent in this new album.

I'm still not sure what to make of it. It seems to me like there's a real lonliness to it that wasn't there before... like all the time endlessly travelling on endless highways seeped into the music. I certainly don't dislike it, anyway.

 

But come to think of it, I hated the first album the first time I listened to it. I just got bored and listened to it again anyway... and then I got it and was hooked.

 

So maybe the same thing will happen again? *shrug*

 

btw... those acceptence speeches from the Brits are classics! :laugh3:

I first downloaded their debut album because I heard Chris Martin mention them. And I thought these guys are okay but not living up to all the hype. Then I was just laying down listening to them, and listening to Mardy Bum (live) changed my view on them.

 

 

I probably won't buy this album. I kind of want to get the Patrick Watson album first.

Yeah, it seems to be a style that works best with familiarity... the songs always sound better on second listen when you know where they're going. But I don't think I'll be in a hurry to get it either... I got the first one because it filled a big gap in my music collection- i needed something loud and fun. Now I have that.

 

...But I'll probably end up getting it anyway sooner or later...

Its growing and growing........
