We just wanted to do a round up of the pre-sale promos this week as we know there may have been some confusion over them and we want to outline what has happened to hopefully help explain it a bit.

 

Firstly, we run a presale lottery system on coldplay.com for most big tours. We have been doing this on the X&Y campaign for 2 main reasons, firstly to make sure that as many tickets get in the fans of real fans as possible and secondly to make sure that fans don’t spend hours getting jammed on refreshing pages in logjam pre-sales that normally take place.

 

This system allows for all members to register their interest for a show and then we will aim to fulfill as many ticket requests as our pre-sale allows. In Australia we managed to look after most people but in the UK, Europe and the USA where our member list is bigger we have only unfortunately be able to look after a portion of people as there just isn't enough tickets to go around.

 

We have however tried to make sure all pre-sale tickets that fans do get are great seats.

 

If you didn't register your interest to a show before Monday then you wouldn't have been put in this lottery system.

 

Once we close the lottery we then shift through by hand, which is a painful job to take out all the professional scalping firms and then pick at random a list of people to go forward to the presale. This is a huge job but a worthwhile one and on this sale alone we have managed to stop 1000's of tickets getting into the professional scalpers hands and into fans hands.

 

On top of the huge amount of work sorting through the requests we also have to deal with dates and sales that can change due to factors our of our control plus sometimes we deal with a number of ticket agencies so information co-ordination can we very tough and we applogise if some dates and times and indeed links have changed through-out this week, we have tried to keep everyone as updated on everything as possible but we know it can be frustrating as all you want is to get tickets and that is all we want, its just trying to match the supply with demand in the best way can prove tough.

 

We have honestly tried to make as many tickets as accessible for everyone and we will keep trying to do this. Look out for information about our official Auction system for tickets coming in the next few days also.
