are all coldplay concerts really short?

Featured Replies

i am a new coldplay fan and have seen them once before in concert. I am thinking about buying tickets to an upcoming show-but i am worried because the last show i saw them at they were only onstage for and hour and 15 min. is that normal? it just seems really short to me. Maybe someone who has been to a bunch of shows could help me out. thanks!

chris has trouble singing long concerts, so they're usually short. Kind of a ripoff compared to other big acts that charge a ludicrous amount for tickets...

Marillion played for two-and-a-quarter hours on Wednesday, just to give you an idea......................................... ;)

I've been to a few of their concerts and they are about an hour and a half - from about 9:30 to 11pm. That's pretty normal in the UK. Sometimes there is a curfew on the venue so they aren't allowed to go later... but I haven't seen a 'short' coldplay concert before. They always do three tracks as an encore after the main set.

Agreed it is quality, not quantity. The shows really are amazing - well worth it.

True...the shows are amazing and I will never forget the feeling I had in Oberhausen!

Quality not Quantity my friend...

but, speaking of coldplay, you can euquate quality with quantity since every song by them is of good quality, aren't they? :-)

The could fill hours with their songs... aah... a 3 hours Coldplay-marathon... that'd be great, wouldn't it? :-)

True. I agree though, the concerts that they do seem shorter for some reason. When I saw them in 2003 it seemed a lot longer. I dont know. Dont worry, they will have to play longer once they make more cds. Just like U2. They played for almost 2 and a half hours. The only band that I've seen that is not that huge that played for a long long time was incubus. They played for 2 1/2 hours as well. They were awesome.

Quality not Quantity my friend...

Cheerio to that! Hear, hear

Im spoiled by 2.25 hour DMB shows, and I go to a lot of jam band concerts that play for just as long. Ive been to about 36 DMB shows, so anything is short compared to them!

But damn the music is good, and that's what its all about! :D
