Earl's Court 16th December - Official Thread

Featured Replies

I have decided to create this thread for three main reasons:

1. It has finally hit me that this Friday I am going to see Coldplay again!!!

2. I want people to share their experiences specific to that night.

3. I want this thread to be a hub for audio, video and pictures.

Anyone else going on the other nights are welcome to post in here too but the 16th crew rule this thread! BRING ON FRIDAY!!!

Hey Nettie! Steph said she was gonna meet up with you, which day was that?

If they don't play Warning Sign, I will kill them :wacky:

I really hope they do as well. It was beautiful at Crystal Palace and at Glastonbury but I don't think it was in the setlist...

I wish that they'd played Warning Sign last night....I'll be sad if they play it tonight or tommorow :(

Have a great time people!!! :)

Thanks Ted :)

I'm sitting tomorrow night, we're in Block 15 :) I'm NOT reading any of the threads about last night's gig or tonight's (when the reports start being posted up) cos i really want everything to be a surprise. Having said that, when i saw him at work today, i couldn't resist asking the guy at work who went to see them on Weds night how it went, although i asked him not to give anything away, which he didn't :sneaky: But he said they were "absolutely unbelievable" and "the lighting is amazing" :stunned: So now i'm even more excited than i was before!!!! :D He also said he has actually met them a few times (how lucky is he?! :stunned: ) and i asked him what they were like and he said they were "the nicest guys." :D He also said that Chris remembered him from the first time he met them 7 months previously! :stunned:

I went yesterday as you know and my god it was brilliant! Maybe the boys were tired but they concealed it very well. I was seated up in the nosebleeds but it didn't bother me because of the view I got at the Palace. Now I have experienced both views! Before I get on to the gig I really want to say a huge thanks to the fantastic organisation and security at Earl's Court, they made Crystal Palace look like a school disco! And now the gig, well what can I say except unbelievable! Richard Ashcroft is a superb support act and I can die happy having heard Bittersweet Symphony live! Some of his new stuff sounds great as well. Then of course Coldplay. The setlist was different to Palace which was good for me but no Warning Sign or Everything's Not Lost which was a shame. I particularly enjoyed How You See The World Number 2 because I was the only one in my block who knew the words! :smug: The guy I went with said "Err Ted, what's this?" X&Y I don't think works live but each to their own. I loved Ring Of Fire when the crowd was all clapping but the highlights for me were a great rendition of Talk and Clocks just absolutely blew me away. If you thought Will was drumming fast at Glastonbury then this was something else. it was just a mess of light and sound and jumping and ahhhhhhh I can't even remember what I was doing. I caught it on camera and I will upload when I have recovered! I got some reasonable camera shots and plenty of video but you will have to excuse the highly embarassing singing from myself and my friend who I went with! :embarrased: Overall an absolutely great night and one which will stick with me for the rest of my life. How critics can slate Coldplay after a performance like that I will never know. Oooh and I got two badges from the merchandise stall as well... :D

It was great, wasn't it! I love Chris' boundless energy. That guy doesn't need to workout. The gig is a work out in itself for him! LOL
