I also have 40 pics out of 46 that are good enough to share so after lunch they are on their way!

Wow, great pics Nettie, thanks for sharing :) Unfortunately i was too far away to get any decent pics (our seats were just over halfway back) but i don't care cos we could still see what was going on, and it was amazing when it suddenly went all dark and when the lights came back on a few seconds later Chris had ran right to the back of the place and was literally bent backwards over one of the railings of the blocks right at the back :stunned: :stunned: :stunned: They were just absolutely awesome, best concert i've been to without a doubt. I'm still on cloud nine. I will never forget it as long as i live :D :D :D :D :D :D

Now ya see, that's the bit we don't get to see.... :embarrased:

Hi all we just got back me and hubby satyed over last night and wow wasnt it a f****ng brilliant night the atmosphere was different at the palace but they were both an awsome night danced and sang that much plus thanx to the woman screaming in my ear all night my ears are still ringing but wat a night richard ashcroft was excellent and of course the boys were awsome as allways. we were not that far from the front so probably saw some of you guys ,stood next to a bloke who was at the same concert as my hubby at earls court on the same day 10 years ago then he was at the palace same day and then was there last night its a small world so we are waiting to see when we meet up again lol .anyway hubby got some cool pics an excellent one of chris on his piano with the light its lush i am having it as my desktop................... so when i get round to it and after getting the third degree from our 4 year old who so despratly wanted to come i will put the pics on i am glad every one had a great time ........... bishy xxx

i was queing since about 2ish and iwas trying to figure out how i recognised some people cos i didn't think it was anyone off the official board and then as we were all stood on the barrier that most of them were people from here!

GazeboflossUK i was the guy stood next to you in the first que :P

well was originally right at the very front of the gig, until illness really kicked me up the arse like it had been threatening to do for the past two days and i had to seek medical assistance for the 1st 20 minutes of coldplay, and thus lost my awesome view.

Though the view i got when i rejoined was still good.

Ashcroft impressed, have never much liked him (and still rather find bittersweet dull...but did get drugs dont work).

How-ever, onto the main event.......what a crap setlist. I'm sorry to say it as i've now seen them twice and virtuallt identical setlists. How dissapointing. They are consistant in their sound true, apart from chris's messups it soudned good enough but i was underwhelmed by the setlist and indeed the length of their slot (not the the 1st time). They went off at 10.10.....they came on at 9.....70 minutes, before a 3 song encore. That was extremelly dissapointing.

The setlist may have had 3 suprises the night before, but ring of fire was the only suprise this night (and that was due to a chris mistake). *shakes head* Maybe i'm destined to never enjoy a coldplay concert, well it' snot that i didnt enkoy it, i just didnt find it doing too much for me.

I've seen REM (amongst others this year) and they blew me away. Coldplay have merely entertained me, which is a shame seeing as they are one of my fave bands....

On other news, spoke to a few people (but who was the silly canadian guy drinking beer....why queue early on if you're going to drink beer..tiolet breaks aplenty)

and the balls thing was started by a friend and i. Wrote some lyrics on there, noticed on the 2nd one other people added to it, but never got to see what was added to it, security seemed to take them away, grrr

You are an idiot. It was sooooooooooooooooo gd. You judt weren't able to apreciate it bvecuase u had seen the same setlist before, everyone else thought it was amazing, especially the crowd singing and the yellow ballons. [highlight=red:293b72aa83][/highlight:293b72aa83][stream][shadow=red:293b72aa83][glow=red:293b72aa83][fade:293b72aa83][scroll:293b72aa83][/scroll:293b72aa83][/fade:293b72aa83][/glow:293b72aa83][/shadow:293b72aa83] [/stream]

hey!!! that word /idiot/ was unnecesarry, espectially for a newbie? we're all here to share opinions, not argue or curse... :/

The main reason I'm making this post is to show off my mighty impressive photos, the best of which can be found here: http://www.danieltuffen.com/images/Gigs/Coldplay%2016.12.05%20London/

(Take a look, even if you only click on one, trust me..they're worth it ;))

Richard Ashcroft was good, wasn't he? I really enjoyed singing along to Lucky Man, Drugs Don't Work and Bittersweet (For the second time this year!)

Gotta agree with Majson with regards to the setlist though. I mean come on.. this was (as Chris kept saying) the FINAL Coldplay gig in London for ages. And yet they gave us the same stale old setlist they've played every night, in every country since the tour began? (Excluding X&Y which is a poor track anyway, and How You See The World v2 which nobody knew!) They could have thrown Daylight, Hardest Part, Rush Of Blood, Amsterdam (All been played on this tour so far) or even.. gasp.. finally tried to play the title track of the tour, Twisted Logic!!

[/rant.]

I'd like to claim ownership of those clear beach balls that were thrown around during the time between bands. Yes, those were my balls you were tossing around. Did anyone happen to get hold of one and read it before security removed what was clearly a high-risk violent weapon?

I was stood right behind 2 girls wearing white and silver santa hats, which I think has been mentioned somewhere on here.. so.. if that was you.. hey :) thanks for not being tall/having an afro.

Hi

This is a bit late but just wanted to say, me and my GF lucy thought it was AMAZING :D I must ask... where was Warning Sign? :/

Me too! I was there on Friday and I LOVED it! I didn't think the set was boring and certainly NOT crap - it got everyone on their feet and everyone around me was singing their hearts out.

Was lucky as was near the front on Jonny's side, which made it better as all the fans at the front were going crazy for them. I saw the two girls with their santa hats - near the middle, on Jonny's side. One threw their hat onto the stage at the end and Chris put it on - she looked so happy! Favourite was God Put A Smile Upon Your Face - especially when Jonny went to the front and totally rocked out! It was cute when he and Chris lay down at the front.

People at the front - Did you see the two girls standing inside the pit-bit that the photographs stand it? One of them - the darker haired one - was Jonny's girlfriend! It was really sweet as every so often he looked at her and smiled and at one point near the beginning he really subtly mouthed a kiss! How cute - and how lucky is she! :)

I saw them at Crystal Palace in the summer and I thought that this concert was even better. I've also been to one in France on this tour and this was just as good, if not better. Sorry if some people didn't enjoy it as much but I really thought it was brilliant :) :) :) :) :)

hey politikclocks

Just looked at your pics there quite cool then got to the last one and realised we sat next to you in the que inside with our bums on the carpet hubby had the nuts mag and we were playing golf on the phone glad you had a good time and its nice to put a face to a name lol.....

Hey there! Great piccies and I signed your beachball. The supervisor guy wouldn't pass the ball back to the crowd [stingy git]. I didn't see what happened to it afterwards...

And yes, I guess it would be a disappointment for you's not to hear anything else, other than the 'standard' setlist they were playing, but it isn't about what they play, it's about the WAY they play it and for me every night brought something new.

I just lament that they didn't play 'Sleeping Sun', which would have been the icing on the cake for me, but oh well.........

That girl was my mate Fudgie! :D Such a result for her because she loves Will!!

I didn't notice any girls - thanks for letting me know. Jonny is just too darn cute! :)

Bishy,

Out of the 20,000 people that were there that night, our paths cross again. Small world eh? Glad you like the pictures... they're some of my best. Where did you guys end up?

Nettie,

YAY! What did you write on the beachball? Just your name? Which one did you get? The one with all the lyrics on or the one with just "I'm gonna buy a gun and start a war..." on??

I guess you have a point about the way they play. I've gotta say that despite seeing In My Place live 4 times this year, I've enjoyed every time. Just being in a crowd that large all singing the YEAAAAHH part.. aah, c'est incredible. Don't mention b-sides in regards to setlists because it'll just make me sad. Unfortunately once a band get as large as Coldplay are they stop playing varied setlists and just stick to the singles. :( Wonder if we could start a fan campaign to get Coldplay to play a gig somewhere where they play a fan requested setlist...

I just remember it being white. I just put 'Nettie woz ere 2005' [i know, really original] and I think my website link.

Friday's rendition of 'In My Place' was by far the best for me. I dunno why, there was just some extra energy from the band, esp Will. He just kicked that beat out there man and everyone was feeling it...

And your idea about a gig just for fan to make request is a blinding. If that'll happen, I'll be there like a shot!

I yelled out on Friday for them to play 'Sleeping Sun'. On Wed, I had it on a banner. Will looked directlly at it, they started whispering to one another, but they didn't play it... :embarrased:

The fact that he acknowledged it was something, I guess.....

^Yeah atleast it got us noticed :) !!! They definatley read it! Genius Nettie, geeenius!

Shame they didnt play it :( ....cracking song, im listening to it right now! :D

How cute is that about Jonny's girlfriend and him subtly mouthing her a kiss!!! AWW!!!WW!!!

Hey Steph! One post short of 4000! :D Go on honey!

WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D I hadnt even noticed!!!!!!! Yay! *does victory dance* :D

Aaaaaaaah man I can't stop thinking about this gig!

When the lights went down and everything was pitch black... that hip-hop track playing... you knew it was going to happen soon... then the music stips and the count down begins with that cool sound and tapping - four dark figures against the white screen.... NOTHING ELSE COMPARES!! Then Chris starts to sing Square One... everyone is like OOOOOH MY GOD THIS IS IT!

Sorry about my broken up slur... I just cant stop thinking about this :D
