Leap Second for 2005

There will be an extra second added to 2005 to keep our clocks accurate to the slowdown in the earth's rotation. The extra second is added one second before midnight on December 31. The last extra second was added in 1998.

Most interesting poster 2005...Areej! :P

No seriously though, how do we even mark that? Will our computer's clocks do anything?

Er Im trying to understand that too. But according to what I'm reading, it says that special kinds of clocks can show that to us.

hmm weird :rolleyes2: :rolleyes3: :rolleyes4:

but it doesn't make a big difference..does it?

One second.............just one second affects the earth's rotation . Very weird but I found it quite interesting thats why I posted it.

and some people are trying to stop it happeneing because it fucks up the atomic clocks

You shouldn't really notice the difference in your computer clock unless you use real-time applications.
