I love In Absentia but I have a slight preference for Deadwing.

Arriving Somewhere But Not Here and The Start Of Something Beautiful are amazing.

I saw them live too, one year ago. They did the whole Blak Planet album, including Anesthetize, which was incredible live, especially the drums.

Porcupine Tree is awesome, I've seen them live in NYC the last two times they played here - very intense, dark, beautiful music. I will always favor In Absentia since that was what got me into them, but Stupid Dream and the last two, Deadwing and FoaBP, are pretty amazing, too...

Homg yes. I love Porcupine Tree. I love lots of Steven Wilson's works.

I've got a love for Stupid Dream, Deadwing, and Lightbulb Sun. I'm actually trying to learn Lazarus on guitar.

On Deadwing album, I think the succession Arriving Somewhere/Mellotron Scratch/Open Car/Start Of Something Beautiful is absolutely awesome.

So apparently its extremely difficult to get their albums in surround sound, even though they offer all of them in the format

Corey I'm sure play.com always have them in stock.

So who else was dissapointed with steve wilson's Insurgents? I thought Harmony Korine is the only half decent track on the album.

^ I quite liked Insurgentes.

Harmony Korine was one of the good tracks on the album. I liked the title track Insurgentes, Veneno Para Las Hadas, Get All You Deserve, and Salvaging. The only track I didn't like on the album was No Twilight Within The Courts Of The Sun, but it appears that lots of the fans liked it so it could just be me. *shrugs*

Yeh, actually giving it anouther listen, I thought No Twilight Within The Courts Of The Sun, was one of the best on the album, Abandoner and Salvaging (tracks 2 and 3) almost put me of the album though!

*edit* Just got tickets to see them xD

A friend of mine got tickets to see them as well. XD

Damn me for living in a region of the US that PT would probably never visit.

Can't wait for the new album to come out, though. Any word on when it's supposed to come out?

Yeh, they didn't even have a date for manchester, so I'm having a nice hour drive to leeds to see them :).

This is something I found for the rumours, 55 minute song :O

Album rumours

Mine would include having to take a plane to places. Doubt they'd ever come over to Hawaii.

Damn, and I thought Anesthetize was long enough. :shocked2: Their hands must cramp up incredibly.

And oh hey, September 21st is when my friend is planning on going to see them in concert.

Wow there's actually a downside to living in Hawaii then!

What do you think of the live DVD? Got it yesterday, pretty good stuff!

  • 2 weeks later...

Yeah, never thought there'd be a downside to Hawaii, huh? XD

...Live DVD, whut?

I didn't hear anything about a live DVD. D: How is it?

Last PT related thing I got was the Ilosaarirock mp3s from someone from Residents of a Blank Planet.

I actually just found an album of bsides left off of In Absentia, lots of great stuff on there especially a 16 minute version of Strip the Soul :shocked2:

I recall having that version of Strip The Soul, but I can't for the life of me remember where it is.

And oooh, wait, are you talking about the DVD Arriving Somewhere...? 'Cause I also have the audio to that. XD I've wanted that DVD for a while, but I can't seem to find it anywhere. Can't order it online either, just 'cause I know my mum wouldn't go for it.

I'll just wait 'til I can borrow it from my friend to see it. XD

On that note of performances, has anyone ever seen the live performance from Fletchers? If I remember correctly, it was around the time In Absentia came out. It was actually a very good performance, and if I can find the link again, I'll post it here for others to see.

Edit: Here ya go: link

I'm having problems with the ram file, think I need an extension, I'll sort it out later, thanks for link though!

No problem. ;)

And jeez, someone put all of Arriving Somewhere... on YouTube, and though it's not very nice 'cause it takes away money from the band (yeah, I'm kinda with Steven and that whole "having the actual thing in your hand is better than a digital download of it". But I suppose I'm a hypocrite with all the mp3s I have of the different albums...curse my stores for not carrying them), I'm glad someone put it up so that I can see it as well.

God, I love that version of Buying New Soul. I could listen to it forever. And how he broke a string while playing Trains.

Trains live is awesome, never really liked the song until I heard it live.
