Is it just me or do these two songs sound musically similar...? Like the exact same. What do you guys think?

Well, I guess thats your opinion. Strong one, but I actually think I prefer proof over gravity a little bit. I dont really like the new gravity as much. Changed the lyrics too much.

There's more synth and instrumentation in Gravity than Proof, and Chris' voice is much higher throughout Proof than it is in Gravity. He's in his falsetto range throughout the song, which gives it a different song.

ya I prefer the live version of gravity as well, but proof is much too saccharine for my taste.

Gravity is an awesome song. one of my favourite coldplay songs. when i heard Embrace's version, i actually thought it was Coldplay. the lyrics just had to be by Coldplay. no one can do a song like that like Coldplay can. but Embrace's version was really good.

 

I'm not as keen on Proof, but it is still very good. i have yet to find a "bad" Coldplay song!!!

Yeah, I actually thought when I first heard Gravity(studio version) I thought 'this sounds like something else' and then I realized ...Proof. That's it...Similar but Gravity so kicks Proof's ass by a mile :P

they really are much similar to each other... both beautiful..

Personally I like Proof more. I haven't even listened to all of Gravity, to boring for me.

i guess the live version over Proof, but thinking of studio version, i guess they are as good. but musically they are very mjuch the same.
