haha..I'm excited for the World Cup now because my friend from Brasil will be visiting when the games are on, should be a good time. He can show us Canadians how to get into soccer.

And Germany's first goalkeeper during World Cup is... Jens Lehmann!!! :stunned: :D

 

Coach Jürgen Klinsmann announced it today... Oliver Kahn is only number 2! Well, it's hard for him and he doesn't deserve it, but I think it's the right decision. Lehmann did a great job at Arsenal while Kahn made a few mistakes, especially in the last Bundesliga game against Cologne (2:2).

I think England will win it, although Germany has advantages. But I'd like Mexico to win this, we've never won a world cup, so maybe this would be the first time.

Yesterday Oliver Kahn decided to take part at the World Cup as number 2. :) I think it's a great disicion and I'm happy that he respected Klinsmann's opinion. Well, we have a luxus-problem for the goalkeeper's position! :D In my opinion, other countries were very happy if they would have problems like this. ^^

Well, everyone thought Germany wouldn't reach the next round during World Cup 2002 in Japan and South Korea and we have reached the final. :)

Another new stadium will be build in Berlin during World Cup 2006, in front of one of the most important buildings in Germany, the Reichstag. :) It will be a new stadium build by Adidas (called "world of football") and it seems to be a little double of Berlin's original Olympic Stadium. There you'll have the possibility to watch games on big TV screens at one of the 11.000 places. A ticket will cost 5,50€. A few popular bands and artists will also perform there, for example Juanes, James Blunt and the Black Eyed Peas.
